Looks like someone needs to climb up to  the top inside Chaifetz and take down the UMass banner among the A10 school banners

Made note of that too. The UMass banner is somewhat in the middle (they're in alpha order) so they'll all need to be shifted. I guess they can do that from the catwalk somehow. Glad it's not my job.

I nominate Old Guy to do it.  He has a lot of time on his hands.

For those not in attendance last night. Nothing to read into this for starters or playing time.

It seemed to me the Gray Team won most of the sessions. Which means nothing .

The practice was fun to watch.

I was very impressed with Quentin Jones.  Seems like a big-time scorer.  He will excel in Schertz' offense.

Sharma has game.

While Jax is thin (6-11, 200), he's definitely got some fast twitch quickness and hops.  Maybe the incredibly weak non-conference schedule will allow us to give Jax and others some real-game experience.

Very much trying to avoid stereotypes, not to mention the geography of where he's from, but I got Chet Holmgren vibes from Kerr. Tall and slender, but wasn't afraid to mix it up inside. Nice looking shot from the perimeter. My son and I talked to him after practice and that is his favorite player and who he patterns his game after. I think a year following and learning from Robbie, getting stronger and this guy has major upside! As always for a program out size, I just hope it's with us. Overall a really fun evening.

I thought of Chet when I saw him hit this shot (1:15)

It is weird, watching players and trying to imagine how they might be in a year or two and then remembering that the roster could look very different next season.

This probably deserves a separate thread, but the Homecoming "Billiken Madness" is October 26 at 6:30.

if there is one player this year we all need to hope doesnt fall for the currently popular move on to a higher level and hit the portal, it is probably jax kerr.   but some muscle on this guy, and i believe he could just be the next big thing.   lets hope he loves st louis.  he loves being a billiken.

I am also hoping he gets enough minutes  to be happy. We are losing all of our experienced bigs at the end of this year, so Jax with some confidence and a year in the system could be a very good thing.

I'm reasonably sure that the Billiken madness is Sept 26, not October.

You could just say that it is September 26.

September 26 at 6:30.

Agree.  In the 'From the Stands' podcast, Kerr said he is the 'Trigger In Training' to perhaps replace Avila in 26/27.  [He didn't mention next season, those are my words.] Time will tell.  He said he enjoys contact, and commented how big and strong Otieno is.

Money will keep him here, perhaps.  It will be interesting to see how much PT he gets this season.  The Big's start with Robbie, Paul and Kalu....and Amari?

Schertz' comment on his consideration of defense squads and offense squads might present more opportunities for Jax, probably on the offense squad.
