as i posted before i do not think the MVC has any interest in playing or helping our coach in anyway SLU will have problems scheduling that conference (and our coach may have some similar feelings)

I get the scheduling difficulties, but I would like to vote for at least scheduling all non-exhibition games against other D1 schools, no D2, D3 or NAIA teams unless it’s clearly an exhibition game,

And have them all at the beginning of the season! No mid-season exhibitions or games against that class of opponent.

A good warmup schedule so far. But for the next 7-8 games let’s get games from the best mid major conferences. I agree that our likely only way to a dance invite is to win it all in Brooklyn, but we need to provide the fans with some better OOC games just to generate interest in the program.

Side note: the 2026 A10 Tournament will be in Pittsburgh.

I'd like to see a couple MVC schools on the schedule (as usual) - SIUC (which should be an annual match-up) with at least one of Bradley, Murray St., Illinois St., or Belmont. Also Missouri St. will be C-USA next season - it would be good to have them in a regular rotation now that they represent a different conference.

No locations have been announced for A-10 Men's tournament locations beyond this coming season's in Pittsburgh.

Think in terms of money. Pittsburgh most likely presented the head of A10 with an offer they could not refuse. By this I mean in terms of money.

Pittsburgh is a good choice as it’s kind of in the center of the A10 locations.

I think for the time being. Attendance isn't great and I think a lot of alumni balk at the cost of staying in New York for 4+ days. Brooklyn is by far my favorite spot for it to be played, but I think we'll see more tourneys in the mid-atlantic and maybe mid-west in the coming years.

Attendance won't be great anywhere (except of course Dayton where they will pay to watch paint dry).  The two best attended sessions for the A10 anywhere that I have witnessed were a few years ago when Fordham was pretty good and the subway brought fans to Barclays.  The best atmosphere I have ever seen at the A10 tourney was at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City when Temple and St Joe's fans took the trains down from Philly and nearly filled the 9,000 seats.  

I think the A10 thinks holding the tournament in New York City and Washington make them big league.

Yes, but before our time in the league. 1999-2003 in Philly in the First Union Spectrum was the last time.  Previous times in Philly (various venues) were, 1977, 1983, 1987, 1990, 1996, 1997, 1998. 1977 was actually the first A10 men’s tournament ever. It was almost a completely different league in terms of teams back then.

SLU is the undisputed champion when it comes to excuse making.
