You can only get that guy in the portal.  You're never getting that guy if he's stuck behind two upperclassmen as a freshman.

The ACC is reducing the number of conference games to 18, down from 20.  The move is apparently a reaction to the downward trend of ACC bids to the NCAA tourney.  Some upper-echelon programs for some time have wanted to drop two games from the league schedule in an effort to avoid dead weight in the conference dragging down NCAA Tournament resumes.  The Big 10 and the Big East remain at 20 conference games, while the ACC joins the SEC and Big 12 at 18.  

Will this reduction present opportunities for Mid Majors (read SLU) to schedule games with the ACC?  Perhaps, but the ACC won't be looking at Q3 or Q4 replacements.

Obviously you didn't read Stu Durando's column today on scheduling.   The majors are in concert to shut all quad 2 and quad 3 teams.   They will play loaded major conference and gimmee buy games.  Thus landing New Hampshire at home is likely a pretty good get.

Stu reports that the Bills will have home games vs. Lindenwood, Bethune-Cookman, and one against a team in the Acrisure Series. SEMO, San Fran, Grand Canyon, and New Hampshire are other known home games.

It will not change the odds of us making the NCAA tournament, we just have to win the A10 tournament.  It’s what teams in one bid leagues do.

I don’t know that it should be something to give anyone confidence. I’m just saying it’s how it is, until either the whole conference improves, or the NCAA tournament expands, it’s where we’re at.

If we can’t schedule any teams from the top 4 conferences, let’s schedule as many as we can from the MVC, AAC, Conference USA & that level as we can to get some good games. I want to see us play decent teams, not bottom level.
