This was posted on X and is another reminder how behind the times our leadership at SLU is and has been. Can’t say this enough, nothing will change until we get a new AD. Culture is what recruits want #1? NIL isn’t going to change the portal??? So out of touch. He should tell Chaifetz that one in 2025.

This guy has the absolute worst judgment in college athletics. How anyone not getting their butts sucked by this AD can defend him with a straight face is laughable.

Ask Avila if he came to SLU because of the culture or competitive practices….lol. Same with Schertz, how’d he get job? Travis should still be here, tough guy AD said so a couple of years ago….what a bald buffoon. Fred too.

Trying to tell everyone for years. Need a smart, strong AD in 2025 college athletics. Times have changed and are going to continue to change.

You guys will never get it. Mediocrity with a stale 17 year middle manager and president that hasn’t caught up to 2025 NIL world of sports and facilities. It is amazing how stupid the whole place is inside that SLU bubble.

so what do you propose we do about it?   we arent all on the BoT and can increase budgets, give mandate orders and performance minimums and hire and fire.  so what exactly are you accomplishing with these rants?   it seems to me you might be the one that "doesnt get it".

he's just so frustrating.   couldnt take it anymore.   i will hold myself back.  at least try.  hopefully he isnt a slu grad.   that would be embarrassing to the rest of us.

I hear ya. When I saw his second post here, I scrolled up to see who he was responding to. It was just him with both posts. Let him talk to himself. Maybe it's some kind of therapy for him. Hell, we're all frustrated but ranting about stuff we can't control doesn't do any good.

I assumed he's a 92 grad but who knows.

So almost every Cardinals fan who want Mozeliak gone and DeWitts to sell the team are unhinged, idiots too? What are they trying to accomplish? Change. How is it so hard for majority at SLU to realize that there needs to be a change in leadership in athletics? Not everyone gets a free t-shirt yearly from AD like you Roy and you have same answer to everything….”nothing you can do, deal with it, write a check, etc.” You have no idea what myself or anyone else donates to program. Unless we win A10 it’ll be another year of no NCAA. That’s my problem. I’m tired of it and expect more, again just my problem I guess. I want to know why the guy who has been in charge for 17 years has never been held accountable? 17 years. It’s beyond stupid. Tired of excuses, tired of same results year after year, tired of the overhyping of the same repacked product. Hope they win A10, but hope isn’t a strategy. Maybe read the old tweet from 2 years ago and for once think for yourself? NIL won’t matter??? That’s not a fan, that’s your hero AD two years ago. Fanboy Roy, please wake up. If all it takes for you to agree with me is a free T-shirt send me your address.

Each year we miss ncaa, we fall further behind. Read the AD of SLU’s statement from 2 years ago I posted. He’s clueless. It’s his own words. Read what George Mason is doing with $250 million athletics facility projects. A lot of the BoT read this board, sponsors, season ticket holders. Accepting this after 17 years of total mishandling of major tentpole programs regardless of you think the guy is a dork or a rockstar, his record speaks volumes. SLU is being passed by each year and that’s my concern. Last year he’s saying all 5 starters from Indiana State were coming, false. Two years ago NIL didn’t matter with the portal, ask Avila if it does, and ask him after this season again. Everything is reactionary and you can’t operate a serious athletics program like this in 2025. Hopefully new president is smarter than Fred.

Look, I am not sure many on this Board are all that keen on May.  The problem is we really don't have any power to do anything about it.  Short of everyone to stop spending money on the program which may be throwing the baby out with the bath water, there really is very little we can do.  The program is fueled and ruled by a few big money donors and so their voices/actions will always win out.  Now you can say get rid of the oligarchs but that would really kill the program.  SLU92 is entitled to his opinion/post and if you don't like it then put him on the ignore button or just do which most have done and that is ignore by not responding.  Yes, I know I just did not take my advice but I will from now on.

Would’ve been perfect job for Larry Hughes but they ran him off. Good thing for SLU culture is more important than NIL…..

I mean I’m not fan of May but culture still plays a huge role.

When Duke, Auburn, Kentucky, and UConn are all offering Player A 1.5 million that player will go where he feels comfortable.

If he likes the fit and likes the team and his coaches he’ll stay the next year. If not he’ll take another schools 1.5 million.

all that’s said if we can get May out I’m on board with that!

May stinks. But slu92 writing posts like a  15 year old doesn’t get anybody on board with the cause. Every post gets an “I ain’t reading all that” reaction out of me, and I am vehemently opposed to Chris May as SLU AD.

Hey you guys chatting about firing Chris May up in here?

I could be convinced to support that effort.

More like Chris Won't am I right?
