'The Lou' branded merchandise for NIL store?

I genuinely don't have any information on this, but that's a pretty good guess. I'm not sure I think SLU will put "sideline" apparel in stores, because of the overhead. But I think it could be The Lou jerseys for both women and men. They kinda leaked them during the Lowell game at halftime while talking to Tillett.

My mom messaged me asking what this was and my mind also went to apparel. I just told her I had no idea, because she probably thought it was something tangibly major. Being cheeky about apparel is kinda lame.

Given the fact that it refers to the Lou and not SLU, I’m guessing Chaifetz secured a WNBA expansion team. Maybe playing at Chaifetz Arena for games?

If Chaifetz's were also tweeting about it, I could get behind the theory. But nothing. They were teasing Pickleball like crazy leading up. I also don't think the WNBA stuff is even close to that point in the process. If SLU was using resources and energy to help launch a WNBA, as much as it'd be great for "The Lou". Fire anyone involved in that decision into the sun. I know there's crossover between Chaifetz and SLU and Tatum and whatnot, but SLU is already operating with a skeleton operation. Using any resources to hype up an outside entity would be shockingly weird.

I recently heard a presentation by the head of the St. Louis Sports commission. He was asked about the possibility of STL getting a WMBA team. While saying they were not involved he thought it was a longshot at best. Many cities are or will bid for this.

In the era of constant conference realignment, and the obvious desire for an invite to the Big East, I think it is tone deaf of the marketing department to tease announcements of anything that is not that as a BIG announcement. To me it wreaks of a small time program when you try and over-hype an apparel deal as "big," and makes your fanbase begin to to tune you out when you actually want fans to "tune in" when the announcement is made

Big difference between the head of that and the actual players who are trying to get a team.

Exactly, their bid isn't even formally launched yet.   We're nowhere close to something like that happening.

Tone Deaf is one of the guideposts in the ADs and Marketing Depts Mission Statement

I think it's tone deaf that you thought us joining the big east right now was a realistic possibility.

The athletic department was trying to hype up an announcement of new jerseys and make money. I have seen a ton of responses on social media holding them in high regard and most likely doing decent sales for the athletic department.

It blows my mind how much people on this blog whine. As a long time enjoyer of the blog, it is making this place unbearable.
