But when I checked the roster I could not find him. Does anyone know what happened why he is not in the roster any longer? He still listed on the official website. I thought I saw him in the shooting warm up. Quote

HoosierPal Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Several posters on this GDT are commenting on use of 6 players in the second half. For those that didn't follow Indiana State, or haven't paid attention to Schertz' interviews, he highly prefers a short, tight bench. Last season he used 6 at Ind State for most of the conference games. There shouldn't be any surprise that he is repeating what he has done in the past. Quote

I was wondering why Schertz did not bring Brockhoff while we were ahead to give some rest to Jimerson and Swope. I thought with his size in front of the basket he might have been useful to block some of the 3 pointers that rained on us towards the end of the 2nd half. If you mean what I think you mean, that would be goaltending. Not good. Not good at all! Quote

Also you may see preseason favorite to win the Naitonal Championship, Alabama that plays the same type system. So tell me you don't know basketball without telling me you don't know basketball. Now if you want to say the Defense is not up to standard that is true. The offense is good and the defense needs work. I'm not sure if it's personnel or issues with coaching just yet. You mean that same Alabama team that couldn’t play a lick of defense almost all season then figured it out in March last year!!?? It is possible so I’m not ready to give up on our team!! Quote
slu72 Posted November 28 Posted November 28 I’m most concerned about Thames and his health. A 20 year old kid who keeps cramping just doesn’t make sense. Alright Old Guy what’s your prognosis? Am praying this is something temporary like a bad case of the flu. CenHudDude and SLU_Lax 2 Quote

I just consulted a Dr and there could be many causes thyroid, vitamin deficiencies, kidney problems, etc. Have to find the root cause to treat it effectively. Quote

Alright Old Guy what’s your prognosis? Am praying this is something temporary like a bad case of the flu. If I recall correctly Thatch had similar findings. Just keep in mind that before a diagnosis like Thatch's is made a large number of other possible causes and treatments have to be ruled out. What he has may not be a rare disorder. For example during my hospitalization last year I lost a lot of weight and a lot of muscle mass. It has improved slowly but I had lots of cramps. Using magnesium citrate or glycinate daily did not entirely eliminated my cramps but reduced them in a major way. Please understand that my physical condition is nowhere close to Thames'. However, taking magnesium citrate or glycinate twice a day is NOT going to harm him in any way and may, just may, provide some degree of relief to his cramps. The first step in good medical care has been known for centuries: "Primun non nocere." which means first of all cause no harm. slu72 1 Quote

The calls being made were not luck. The luck was that his toe happaned to be on the line, and that the last shot was released at either .1 or .00 but it was razor close. Did they stop the clock in time when he called the timeout beforehand? That wasn't reviewed. It was a lucky escape win and the building felt that way. No one even cheered. Quote

GOSLU68 Posted November 30 Posted November 30 I like what Schertz did with Pikar at end if game defending inbound passes-not sure you can defend guys falling out of bounds and throwing in twos or threes. No one shoots 63 percent from three and loses-we were lucky for the outcome Quote
billikenfan05 Posted November 30 Posted November 30 5 hours ago, cheeseman said: And if my aunt had balls she be my uncle Exactly. Allowing Umass Lowell to erase a 21 point deficit is unacceptable, but the Billikens defense caused that player to take a frenetic jumper where he was unable to make sure he was shooting a 3. The Billikens defended well enough that it took them .1 seconds too long to get a shot off. Was it good? No. Was it good enough? Yeah. Old guy and Zink 2 Quote

There is a lot of work being done to keep Thames from cramping. Different drinks and juices along with stretching. Actually reminds me of the stuff they use to do with Thatch. Quote

Game 6 with a new coach and multiple injuries. Pardon me if I wait a bit before I join you on the ledge. New coach new staff new players have to establish HS recruiting have to establish NIL funds have to establish NIL strategy have to get transfers have to install offense have to install defense have to build their culture have to get the right scheduling Just a couple things to do that may or may not take time to gel. I believe one of the main reasons Schertz came here was because of the already established and large NIL fund compared to ISU. You know you have a billionaire propping up the program, right? He believed the whole starting 5 would follow him to SLU. Am I to believe you didn't have the NIL to support that? Quote

If you observed closely, you might deduce that SLU's NIL strategy was not what it needed to be. Also you may suppose that donors were hesitant to give after years of underachieving. Also if you observed College sports in general beyond SLU, you may observe that many programs have billionaires and millionaires supporting them. Quote
