If you keep in mind that the attendance figures are based on the number of paid seats, this number includes an unknown number of paid but empty seats at the game.

You know I always get a kick out of out town fans knocking the attendance figures.  First of all, this is Thanksgiving week so who knows were the students were although all things considered, the student section was not that bad.  Second, people often take the whole week off to travel out of town - yesterday was the official start of the Thanksgiving travel period at least that is what the news reported.  Third, we still don't know - at least I don't - what the season tix total is.  Did it drop significantly? I don't know but what I do know is that the season tix base is our primary source of attendance.  Finally, it was a school night for young kids and in fact the guy who sits in front of me had brought his young son and they left about halfway through the second half because of this.  I also know that when we sell a bunch of tix for a special promotion then it usually is to kids groups and a school night is not a good date to do that.  These attendance figures were not that much different than what we got last year for a team with no connection to us other than the polling stuff they do so be patient it will take some time to get things going again here.

-I have not been to an A10 tourney or conf road game, for those that have are the showing of replays at those venues as milquetoast as what SLU does?  I recall one game a few years ago where a couple controversial calls were replayed, it was great, but typically we get no replays of questionnable calls and my question is does that come from the A10 or SLU? Having attended games in other venues I have seen questionnable calls on the video boards

-of course, from watching on tv I would not be surprised if some of the A10 buildings don't have video screens

Last night was concerning, glad we won but we played a bad team. Rebounding needs a lot of work or it’s gonna be a long season.

Hopefully, a healthy Casey eases that problem. By the McCottry is proving to be a bit of a disruptor on D. His length and quickness was evident last night.

I’d be shocked if season ticket numbers didn’t go up, with Schertz and Avila coming in, plus how much they advertised the $125 upper deck, $500 (or whatever) lower bowl tickets.

We need to see more of McCottry. I can live with some freshman mistakes along the way, but get him experience now so he's ready when March rolls around. We have an experienced team, and pretty much know what to expect from that group, but McCottry is the one x factor who could help take us to another level if he becomes a key contributor. Not only is he physical, athletic, he seems to have a nice feel for the game.

That's a really broad statement.  I'm excited that Amari may develop into a decent player, but really?  How about Dwayne Evans, Goodwin, French, Ellis, Lisch, Liddell, Kwamain, Willie Reed, Rob Loe, Carte'are (before we knew better), Thatch, Yuri, Nesbitt, etc.  Regardless of whether they panned out for us or not, I think all the guys on my list were thought of as having pretty good upside as freshmen.

The thing about upside is, it has nothing to do with what they ended up as. It's all about potential. Carteare, Willie Reed, Nesbitt all had major potential. The rest were not highly thought of as Freshmen. Lisch and Liddell were big time local, but not really on the national radar, but I was young. I could be wrong.

It also has a lot to do with being physically gifted as a young player. Willie Reed wasn't a BIG TIME player but his frame had so much room for growth as a player. Pikaar is someone I would compare him to.
