Not really sure what one can take away from an exhibition game, but I get the feeling Schertz has built a deep squad. Not sure how well all the parts are fitting in, still it seems we are deep. Am I dreaming?

So far so good. I don't think we're particularly deep but we're better off than we were in previous years. There are a lot of players with upside and I believe they'll be developed.

It is so refreshing to see a team that embraces ball movement.  These guys seem to love making an extra pass to an open teammate just as much as making a big shot.  Real team mentality.

Shertz is getting the results we need to have a very good season. We won this one by 41 pts and did better then Maryville in just about all stats. If we continue winning this way we will do just fine this season.

One should not take much from a game like this but I really liked Max. Several blocks . Not sure there is anyone else who can protect the rim. Minutes on this team will be very interesting. I don’t remember a Billiken team being this deep. Hope Schertz can keep most of them happy.

We beat two DII teams, neither of which is projected to be in the top half of their GLVC conference.  I found the scrimmage to be more entertaining than this game.  Yes there were some entertaining plays in the game, but we will only face 2 or 3 teams as bad as Maryville.  The one thing that was apparent is how valuable Avila is to this team.

This all gets real on Nov 4.   Santa Clara won't look anything like either of these two teams.  We will find out what Schertz' rotation looks like then.

With Avila’s return, the only player out for SLU is guard Josiah Dotzler, who is out with a foot injury but is close to getting back on the court.

@HoosierPal agree the D2 exhibition games are not comparable to what is coming next. I just hope they keep on winning by 30 pts or above.
