While these numbers don't blow me away the names are much better then last year. No Southeast NorthSouth State University.

If you remove the MTE we were in last year, lasts years OOC average is 15 spots higher than what we have so far.

Yes, the USF Dons play at War Memorial at the Sobrato Center on Golden Gate Avenue on the USF Campus. The former doubledecked 5,300 seat rectangular seating arrangement has been renovated.  The lower level 7 rows on each sideline are plastic chair seats.  The East sideline upper deck remains permanent bleachers.  The upper decks of both baselines, south and north, are 10 row deep new bleachers.  The old bleachers from the West sideline upper deck were removed and now that whole side upstairs is a high end club, with 3 rows of chair seats in front that go for approx. $300 per seat.  Two or three rows of folding chair seats remain on the 2 baselines.  USF great Bill Cartwright, 7'1", now a USF Administrator, sits in a lower baseline seat behind the north basket.  Capacity has been reduced after the above to 3,000.

The place can be a tough venue.  I once saw Coach Digger Phelps' Notre Dame Fighting Irish, with LaPhonso Ellis, lose to the resurrected, post-program cancellation USF Dons.  Phelps said he would never be back to "this CYO gym."  Well, it wasn't that then, and it isn't that now.  But it is similar to assorted A10 venues.

USF has also been playing a game each season at the NBA Golden State Warriors' Chase Center, played Minnesota and Gonzaga there last season.

Billikens @ USF (CA) on 12/5/24, playing the Dons in San Francisco for the first time since Coach Spoonhour's last year.

Come out to the Bay Area.  This is going to be great, 2 Jesuit schools with good teams facing off.

Southwest flies non-stop from STL to SFO and OAK;  I just read today United is resuming non-stop SFO-STL flights in August.

Not sure why I'm shocked that USF is in the heart of the city considering SF proper is only 47 sq miles but I still wasn't expecting it. Great road game! Slumber party at BAB's house!

You haven't addressed the most important aspect of War Memorial: do they sell booze??!! Being a fellow Jesuit institution, I would assume the alcohol flows like the salmon of Capistrano but you never know...

Asking a lot here but if we can get two T100 teams in the MTE, and avoid any more 300+ teams I'll be happy with the OOC

I’d offer up 2 top teams needing to improve their schedule like us. 3 year deal, each team host. You get a home, away and neutral game vs  2 top 75 teams. Hosting an MTE would be an added bonus.

Yes, alcoholic beverages are sold at the venue.

Believe it or not Ford was well known within the coaching community, so is Schertz. Ask yourself was there anything to be gained by playing against a team coached by Ford?

Same question but this time against a team coached by Schertz?

Give it some thought, and figure out the answer.

The answer is what our schedule looks like. It’s about what I suspected, hopefully the MTE pans out.

It doesn’t matter whether the coach is Ford or Schertz… unfortunately the days of SLU getting home games against P6 schools like Seton Hall, NC State, KState and Auburn that we have in the past will become very rare almost to the point of extinction. Scheduling WCC schools is smart, and maybe about the best we can do. Scheduling Utah State at home last year was very good, but the MWC is on the rise…  so I'm afraid scheduling teams from that league will likely become more difficult.

Heard today MTE may include a very big time program who wants to play the games at Kiel and then a return game on the road against them next season.

As long as it’s not Illinois or Arkansas consider me on board

I’d love to see ol “swaggy cal” b**ch and moan after a beat down at the fitz.

Part of my reasoning is the amount of opposition in an arena that size ..

Hit us with some hints! Forgive my ignorance but I guess those games at Savvis Center wouldn't technically count as home games? I think we have 7 non-con games announced thus far with just 3 of them being home games. 6 more games to schedule, with all 6 of those needing to be home games? That can't be right...

EDIT: Sorry, Pistol, just saw your post. Forgot exhibition games are included in the home game count so a 2 game MTE on a neutral site (Kiel Auditorium) would work.

Michigan is already in the Fort Myers tip off.

Dang, that's right. Here's a list of P5 teams currently not in MTEs that I just put together on my own. We were supposed to play Cinci in the St. Augustine Classic and I believe a few people on here mentioned a desire for those schools to still play this season so my guess as of now is Cinci. Does the Torch consider Cinci to be a "very big time program" though? Probably not:

ACC: Boston College, California, Georgia Tech

Big 12: Cincinnati, Utah

Big East: Butler, DePaul

Big Ten: Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio State, UCLA

SEC: Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State, Missouri

An LA roadtrip during the 2025-26 season to play Loyola Marymount and UCLA (return game after MTE game at Savvis) would be suh weet: Wednesday night at LMU, Saturday at Pauley Pavilion.

Recall earlier posts saying we have Butler & Depaul on the schedule. Is that still a go?

If I could pick from that group I’d go Ohio State 1 and UCLA 2.
Making the trip to OSU is doable and UCLA would just be super cool.

Doing a quick search of the board for both teams, not seeing any posts claiming they’re on the schedule.

I would go UCLA 1 and Arkansas 2.  Those are the two teams that could draw really well at Enterprise.  UCLA because they are UCLA and Arkansas because of Cal.  IL or Mo could, but you don't play either of them unless it is a home and home.
