You seem to not remember anything that goes against your ridiculous narrative, and when anything does go against it you spin it faster than a Tilt-A-Whirl. You're impossible.

also anyone who thinks Fords comments are in any way out of the ordinary clearly has not watched much sports. this is standard post game interview stuff that most if not all coaches say after every game. they all say things that went well and things that went poorly. it would be super weird if they didn't have any critiques after the game, even in a win. there is always room for improvement and critique. maybe some people are really sensitive to constructive feedback but athletes can't be. they are competitive and want to be the best.

It’s not anything Coach does that inspires the old guy nonsense.

Then why even interview a coach?

ratings, tv. all of it sucks but who cares. ever since big explosion  of sports they've added tons of B S > the hot babe on the sidelines "reporting"., and always one @ the talking heads table, all the pre, 1/2 & after B S is sickening. mute  FF :). from the Dan Devine show in the 60's a child could/did glean that coaches aren't about to tell you anything that has any chance of hurting their chances of winning. it's all publicity etc. now they interview players during the game in the field in MLB. no coach or player would rather have it this way then the old way but none of them are selling insurance during the off season, a common highlight of many a baseball card bak in the 60's. for the most part when  we watch most major league pro teams we are watching millionaires having a go.

My point was simply if you just want the coach to basically say everyone played good, then why interview him at all. Everyone played well, we already know it.

No blue font, and skip you just want to hear what you want to hear, entertainment, not fact. Ford is not a good coach.

Ford is a good coach. We are not going to get a better one. I have been through too many down years to want to change coaches. He has us competitive with the hope of getting to the tournament most years.  Majerus isn’t coming back. We need to keep Ford as long as we can.

Says the guy who admittedly knows little about basketball

Though just for future reference, you didn’t need to admit it. It’s pretty clear.

🤦🏽‍♂️.  Winnable game.  Even with the missed free throws.  It all comes down to what kind of team we want them to be.  A team that just makes the tournament or a team that can make noise in the tournament.  If you just want them to make the tournament...live and learn.  If you want them to make noise in the tournament...this was one for the taking and should have been won.

It's not about what we want.  It's about what the team wants.  I saw a team who isn't ready to be great.  Will they develop a killer instinct?  The jury is still out.

As for making noise in the tournament, that's about whoever is hot at that time.  There are teams who had great seasons who lose in the first round every year.

Just as a note for everyone. Ford will become the 3rd winningest coach in SLU history before the end of this year (7 seasons, same as Spoonhour). Next year, if he stays, he will probably pass Grawer for 2nd, in 8 seasons (Grawer needed 10). He is on pace to pass Hickey by 10th or 11th season. Not bad. Anyone can complain, but facts are facts.

1 NCAA Tournament blowout loss, ok I'll give 2020 a pass,  2nd half meltdown to Auburn and UAB, NIT blowout loss, Blowout loss to Maryland and another 2nd half meltdown to Auburn.

Facts are facts. He's gotta deliver.

I mean ya we can just point out all the bad I guess lol

Ain't saying it's all good cause there's nobody more disgusted with what happened last week than me but anybody can point out a bunch of losses and make it seem like the sky is falling. There's been some real good moments too.

Your glass is half empty.

You can cherry-pick failings from any coach. Majerus: situation 1, 20-point game, Kent State game, etc.

Majerus, in his brief time in Midtown, accomplished more with less.  Ford didn't have to deal with Biondi either (Thank God).

Yeah, totally agree.  Same with Rick Majerus.  No NCAA appearances in his 1st four years as coach.  Only one in his entire tenure here.  He coached a team that only scored 20 points in a game.  Even in the season we went to the tournament, he lost a non-conference game to Loyola Marymount.  Also lost to Rhode Island that year and they ended up with a 7-24 record.  Terrible coach.

MBMs on every message board always talk about how their current coach is disappointing and yearn for the days of the best coach they ever had.

Nobody appears to be happy with a guy who will undoubtedly go into their local Hall of Fame.

-it is rare for an old dog to change their spots, this is something like CFord's 26th year as college head coach so he is an old dog, folks (including me) can pine for him to change some ways or use other coaching tactics but it would probably help all (including me) to realize it is unlikely for him change

-but he is not above getting advice/criticism/blame/disapproval/helpful hints from MBM's, comes with the job
