Avery Johnson put up 732 assists in only two seasons.

And for a little perspective for those who think Yuri is a turnover machine

Season 1   10.7 apg. / 4.3 tog / 2.66 ratio

Season 2  13.3 apg  / 5.7 tog / 2.3 ratio

Yuri  10.6 apg / 3.3 tog / 3.18 ratio

Avery wasn’t a big scorer either avg 7.1 and 11.4 ppg in his 2 seasons

They really seem like very similar players in a world where that player doesn't come around very often.

Yuri adds 11 more assists and brings his total to 756...He is now 50th on the all time list...he has moved up 7 places...It is exactly 2 months since I started this thread.  At that time Yuri was ranked 250th...he has moved up 200 places in that time.

Yuri Collins made history yesterday, and as this is a Collins history thread, let's put it here.

Collins set the Billiken Career Turnover mark of 341, passing LaTodd Johnson.  Congratulations, I guess, are in order.

So what is next?  The A10 (Recent History) Record is within reach with the top five listed below.  The NCAA Record is way out there.  Josh Sharkey who played for Samford is credited with 535  TO's .  Antoine Davis, still playing with 466 TO's, likely won't catch the Bulldog.

Since 2007-08

Rank Player TOV From To
1 Chaz Williams 353 2010 2014
2 Grant Golden 347 2017 2022
3 Tu Holloway 345 2009 2012
4 Chris Gaston 343 2010 2013
5 Yuri Collins 341 2020 2023

Here is a list of 13 MLB players who all have 2 things in common....

1...They are all in the top 38 of the all time  strikeout list

2...They are all Hall of Famers

Reggie Jackson...#1

Jim Thome...#2

Willie Stargell

Mike Schmidt

Fred McGriff

Tony Perez

Derek Jeter

Ken Griffey Jr

Craig Biggio

David Ortiz

Lou Brock

Mickey Mantle

Harmon Killebrew

Based on negative records of great players,  I guess we should just go ahead and nominate Yuri now to the College Basketball Hall of Fame.

Kobe Bryant turned the ball over 4,010 times in his career.

The all-time NBA assist leader is John Stockton, he is also third all time in turnovers with 4,244

The guy with the most turnovers in NBA history with 4,900 (and counting)?
Someone named LeBron James

He knows all of this. His post ranks right up there with some of the most absurd posts in a long, long time.

Figured this was the best place to post this from Seth Davis's article at the athletic. Still probably not a better passer than H though

Playmakers

1. Yuri Collins, 6-0 senior guard, Saint Louis. Collins’ numbers are so astounding they seem made up. He leads the country at 10.6 assists per game (2.4 ahead of his nearest competitor) and assist rate (51.5), and he’s sixth nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.21). During a November win over Tennessee State, he had 20 assists and one turnover.

2. Tyler Kolek, 6-3 junior guard, Marquette. The second-year transfer from George Mason is second in the country in assists (8.2 per game) and assist-to-turnover ratio (3.44), and he’s seventh in assist rate (38.3 percent).

3. Dajuan Harris, 6-1 junior guard, Kansas. Harris has been struggling with his shot of late, but he’s fifth in the country in assists (6.5) and 10th in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.07).

4. Jalen Pickett, 6-4 super senior guard, Penn State. The second-year transfer from Siena has been one of the country’s most improved players. He’s averaging 6.9 assists to just 2.2 turnovers, and he’s leading the Nittany Lions in scoring at 17.3 points per game.

5. AJ Hoggard, 6-3 junior guard, Michigan State. Hoggard has been a do-everything guard for the Spartans. He’s fourth in the country in assist rate (39.1) and 14th in assists (5.9) while averaging 12.4 points per game.

If Yuri doesn't play any more minuets this year, Bishop the A10s #2 assist leader would have to average 9.9 per game to tie yuri.  That's just stupid.

It may take 2 to tango but it looks like Yuri will continue to waltz his way to the top.

I guess if you are not important enough to handle the ball, then your shot at turnover leader is, well .... shot.  With 4,000 mistakes, I guess Kobe wasn't as good as well all seem to think, eh?  All number and records are nice and made to be broken.

As this list grows, I am struck by the fact that there are a lot of guys I never heard of.

I thought for sure , you would have heard of Greivus from your couch in Md.  He was also big in the Festivus movement. He aired many of his grievances there.
