J-Good has made more than I've made in my life after working for 25 years. Granted, it's not long-term generation wealth-nobody-to-work-ever-again-money, but if he's smart and he should be able to provide a very nice life for his hypothetical partner and children and own a very nice house in the nicest suburb in Saint Louis.

I do not know why I am obsessed with this but I am.  JGood is 27 years old and this is the "so-what" page of his spotrac (assuming it is correct)

This is his earnings....except that Suns figure is wrong.  He is only guaranteed 232k on that Suns deal (not 3.6M) because it is a team option and if I am a betting man, I'd wager the suns part ways in January.

So he's made roughly ~2.2M after 5 years, 450k per year, 10% goes to agent and he paid taxes in (**checks notes) California, New York and Washington DC.  I think it was pointed out that his salary is pro-rated meaning he should be getting 29k a game with the suns until January.  I am not sure if that is above or the same as the guaranteed money.  I know he doesn't want to Willie Reed himself and lock himself out of work but that comp is just so so low.  It annoys me so much.

Roy's replacement at the bank loan department makes more than that!

PAY THE MAN.

(I really want someone who actually knows what they are talking about to tell me I am wrong in my above quick analysis)

That all sounds right to me. I think his salary is likely pro-rated in terms of days (nstead of games) on the roster, but that doesn't make a big difference. NBA Cup play and play-off appearances by the Suns (if he's on the roster) can add some cream on top.

Those figures don't count his G League earnings, which while smaller, aren't exactly chump change.  In his G league time he probably averaged 80k a year.

As soon as Brooks and Green come back Jordan will go back to the bench.  He has impressed though, especially his defense which Phoenix really struggled with last year.  Goodwin did a great job on Wenbamyama the other night, played him straight up a couple possessions.  Goodwin may continue to play if the Suns want to continue their mark on the defensive end.

Highly doubtful Goodwin would be released in January.  Suns need to keep the few assets they have to get back to respectability.  They are hamstrung by having to buyout Beal which results in 20 million dollars in dead cap space for the next 5 years.

Thanks Torch.  I was sort of hoping you would reply.  Good points all around.

I think him being extended in January is my #1 interest item in the NBA right now

Because my Wizards who could win 40 games if they tried, are losing are purpose....smh

You are taxed in the venue that the game is actually played in.  So, a lot of those places, but a lot of not.

Not that it would make a huge difference but NBA and G League players get a $160.98 per diem everyday on the road.  Probably at least an extra $10,000 a year.

A lot more per diem that any company I ever worked for would give out. Just for curiosities sake, how much is the NBA per diem?

The NBA and the G League have the same per diem.  I was sort of shocked, but I got to give the NBA players credit for looking out for the guys making a lot less when they did the CBA.

JGood has worked his way into the rotation. It seemed strange to me that, in LA, JGood was part of the rotation in LA for the final months of the season, often playing alongside Luka and Lebron during crunch time (before the playoffs). Yet in Phoenix, even with a strong preseason, JGood was sitting on the bench, not part of the rotation for the first five games: JGood played only in two of the five first games, in garbage time, for only a few minutes. That changed a week ago. In the last three games, JGood has become a regular part of the rotation for the Suns, even playing in the fourth quarter during crunch time with the assignment of defending the opponent's best scorer. Last night JGood had the best over/under of the non-starters (+6). The Suns had been trailing by 20+, but with JGood on the floor shutting down Steph Curry, JGood was called for ticky tack contact in the final minutes of the game. From the bench, Dillon Brooks -- who wasn't dressed for the game -- chirped at the refs about the bad call, and was given a T. That was sort of the dagger. A strange case of the decisive play coming from a player on the bench not dressed! Short video of the action here.

well said. I am more concerned with $$ for our former players trying to make NBA than I am in our current team in a weird way.

Suns are the 930 pm game on ESPN tonight.   hopefully Jordan gets the minutes back he apparently lost last game due to Green's return from the injured list.

hell he might be back to the bench or even worse, be the sacrificial cut.   i think jordan needs a new agent.   this current contract is crazy bad imo.

however if he survives this move, he likely makes it the apparent full salary in January i would think.

Goodwin is still the 14th player on the roster.  With Green back in he has yet another player in front of him on the depth chart.  Don't expect him to play again for awhile unless another guard gets hurt.

Jalen Green just badly limping off the court with an apparent hamstring injury.

Torch apparently using voodoo.

Early reports are that Green will be out 4-6 additional weeks.  Goodwin should get some run during that time.  Right now he's slated in as the 3rd PG/3rd SG.  He needs one of the younger backup SFs to falter so he can squeeze in some wing time.  Suns have been mostly playing big lineups with Booker at PG.  Hard to play Goodwin with Gillespie, makes for a very small backcourt.  I'd like to see Goodwin get more time with Brooks on the floor as well, the two of them make for a dynamic defensive pairing.

With Green out,  the Suns still have Booker, Allen, O'Neal, Dunn, Gillespie and Brooks on the wing.  JGood is the 10th man at the moment.  Suns also have 3 rookies on the roster.  I thought the Suns were a good fit when they were talking about a rebuild.  But they kept a lot of their perimeter players.

Goodwin got in a solid 23 minutes against the lowly pelicans on Monday night.  4 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals.

Goodwin was a +32, not too shabby! He was one rebound away from a double/double.

10 pts. on 4-7 shooting (2-3 arc), 9 boards, 5 assists and a steal. Pay the man.
