Goodwin needs a new agent to look for what is best for him.

It is not possible for any agent to dismiss the CBA in the NBA.  Goodwin is stuck following it if he wants to play in the NBA.  This is not an agent thing.

If Jordan makes the Suns, will they have to pick up his contract he had with the Lakers or will it be an entirely new contract?

The Suns claimed his existing contract off of waivers, so he is under the same contract he signed with LA and is on their regular 15-man roster until he’s not. His contract is non guaranteed until January so they could waive him with little risk at anytime until then. Not sure when he would start getting his regular paychecks for the upcoming season, probably around the time of training camp/preseason.

That's good news.  I know he can be waived at any point, but if that happens, at least he's getting his pro-rated contract until then.  If he makes it until January, he gets the whole thing.

In response to 2010&B ... "Not sure when he would start getting his regular paychecks" ... Regular (bi-weekly) checks typically begin when the season begins. NBA players on a non-guaranteed contract typically get paid per diem during training camp. This amount may be charged against the players first paycheck of the season if the player makes the team. ... Recall that last fall JGood got hurt during the Lakers training camp. He had to work his way back from a G-league contract to a two-way contract until he finally got a regular contract when his two-way eligibility ran out. Hopefully this September he stays healthy and lands a spot on the regular roster, and stays on the roster for a full season as a rotation player.

Here's video of JJ Redick waxing Jordan Goodwin's car saying "he set the tone for us" in yesterday's win...

In mid/late March, JJ Redick was waxing JGood's car. JGood was not just a rotation player. He started games against tough opponents which the Lakers won, and Redick praised JGood as the key player who "set the tone". But when it came to the playoffs, Redick seemed to forget everything he had done right. He did not have the Lakers prepared for game 1 of the playoffs, or for games 3, 4, or 5. JGood was used sparingly, and he looked tentative throughout the playoffs. Despite having a week to prep for their first playoff game, the entire Lakers team looked like Redick gave them no plan at all for the playoffs, except to hope Lebron and Luka could play hero ball. In my book, a lot of the Lakers' poor play in the playoffs falls on Redick. It's strange, because Redick treated JGood as a rotation player all down the stretch, even as a starter in key games. Then in the playoffs, the tone completely changed, including the bone-headed strategy to use the same five players for an entire second half. This seemed to change the way people talked about JGood ... that he couldn't be trusted in the pressure of the playoffs, even though he mostly wasn't used. Keep in mind that JGood was very dependable as a 3-and-D guard for the Lakers, especially from the corner. JGood had a better 3pt percentage for the Lakers in 2025 than Luka or Lebron. Think about that. Redick seemed to forget all that in the playoffs where he acted like a rookie coach way out of his league and unwilling to bring discipline to a team with two superstars or to use the formula that was key to their run of victories in late Feb and March when they climbed up the standings to finish 3rd.

Phoenix is probably not going to carry the full 15 man roster.  They have 3 2 way players currently, 13 players on guaranteed contracts, Goodwin on a partial guaranteed contract, and 4 more players on Exhibit 9 or 10 contracts which are guaranteed if they stay in the G League.

Goodwin will compete against Jared Butler for that final roster spot.  Butler is on an Exhibit 9 contract.  reports say that Goodwin has the inside track but he is not guaranteed a roster spot in any way shape or form.  The Suns have a plethora of young wings, and will be one of the worst teams in the West.  Goodwin has a chance to be a rotation player down the road is some of the younger players flame out early on.

Collins will not be in the Nets camp as he was released.  He will start the year in the G League.  The Nets will be historically bad with a ton of young players trying to prove they belong in the league.  Collins has a decent shot at a callup during the season in that situation.  The Nets will be shuttling pieces of their roster to and from the G League on a weekly basis.

i believe Belleville west hall of famer, EJ Liddell is also in the Nets camp.

Butler looked awful against the Nets but everything I read still gives him an edge making the team over Goodwin.

Has there been a more disrespected player in NBA history.  Seemingly every time he enters the game he makes a positive impact.  He is a stat stuffing machine and plays defense.....and every NBA team is like, we will give you a guaranteed 80k and then have an unspoken plan to cut you the day before you would be entitled to 1.2M.

But I am going to give zero impact players the advantage over making the team and then pay Jerami Grant guaranteed 36M.

It is so annoying
