Demarius Jacobs vibes? I got similar Demarius Jacobs vibes watching the baseline dunk by Parker. He's got a similar build to Jacobs and athleticism displayed in the dunk looked similar. Big difference is that Parker (so far & certainly at the JuCo level) is way more aggressive in looking for his shot. That's a good thing if he can keep the efficiency up. I also expect that even with a lower release point, Parker will have a quicker release on his shot than Jacobs. majerus mojo likes this

HoosierPal
Interesting comments today by Coach in the PD article. Link is on front page. Parker blocked a ‘ton of shots’ at the rim and can rebound. He was the second leading scorer on the trip. Coach wanted to play Forrester and Okoro together but the games didn’t flow that way. And reading between the lines, the 3 teams we played kind of sucked. https://www.stltoday.com/sports/college/slu/travis-ford-found-slu-mens-basketballs-offense-was-too-good-on-european-trip/article_401e7c2c-2e05-510e-b014-6ec63b967eba.html wgstl likes this

This is an interesting comment, Let's think about this. In terms of other teams we are regularly playing against during a regular season, the European teams may indeed have been significantly inferior. However within their own leagues they may be fully competitive teams. What that means to say is that we cannot compare A10 to international leagues because they are not the same, their level of play is not the same as ours. Finally, one of the reasons that the international leagues hire so many US players that never made to the NBA is exactly the fact that the US standard of play may well be superior to theirs. Do I know this for a fact, surely not, this is just my opinion. These three games may have been humiliating for the individual teams we played, but they may also have provided a great educational experience to them. They should be watching those game tapes closely. HoosierPal likes this
