See above in bold face.  Currently 970 (or thereabouts might have missed a few fingers and toies in there).

Missed that. Tx for the update. 970 divided by 352 programs =2.75 new players for each team. Rounding up, make it 3 per squad. Life in the portal is not going to be fun for all these " I should have been a starter" guys.

The main list (the first post) has been updated to include Jack Forest transferring from St. Joes to Bucknell and two transfer from the Bonnies to include Coulibaly who was the only Bonnie bench player top receive time outside of the Iron Five.  The other Bonnie saw 9 minutes ot total court time over the whole season.

I can't find how much money the winner gets nor how it breaks down for participants.  But it would seem once you play for pay your college eligibility is gone.

Of course, in today's NIL day and age, that might be old school thinking too.

It is a thin line nowadays.

Wouldn’t the most likely option be testing the NBA waters while keeping his eligibility open?

Why wouldn’t he test the NBA waters?

Adaway is in some sort of college dunk contest.  Being in that he loses his eligibility.

If he has his degree why come back?  Age is against anyone who returns for a 5th season and wants to get drafted by the NBA.  22 is about as old as you will see for an NBA draft choice and Adaway will be 24 in July.  Unless he has an NIL deal he can’t turn down and he wants to play for pay, go get a paycheck.

What if the contest says that they are paying players based on their NIL? Why wouldn’t they do that?

I’m not sure how the NIL”rules” might effect such an event.

If the participants could get paid for advertising the game, why couldn’t they get paid for being in the game?
