Also good news for the Billikens that UNI doesn't have a big time shot blocker. On the flip side UNI shoots a ton of 3s. They aren't anywhere close to as efficient as Davidson, but we need to defend the 3 better / have better luck than we did yesterday. They shot 100 more three's than we did, 718 to our 622. They hit 35% and we hit 37%. Yes, we need to defend the arc better than we did against Davidson. They are also an excellent FT shooting team - 7th in the Nation. We need to keep them off the line. Was looking at UNI's schedule and aside from a nice 10pt win on the outskirts of Olean, they have struggled on the road this year. Their road games, even against the dregs of the MVC, have resulted in losses or wins by 5pts or less. Fill Chaifetz, defend the 3 and SLU should have this one. Soderball
Season Tix holders should have dibs to buy "your" seats to the game. They sent out an email. If you didn't get that email hit up the athletic dept. Should be a good but very winnable game for us. Looking forward to Wednesday and hopefully more to come. Very glad we got a bid. The fact that 24-10 Drake (82 NET, 85 KenPom, played in the MVC Tournament Final) didn't get an invite is a testament to how strong this field is. Bay Area Billiken
You have to just love the NIT sending the Bonnies 1,642 miles to Boulder, Colorado, to play a Tuesday night, 11 p.m. Eastern, 9 pm Mountain Time game at altitude vs. the Colorado Golden Buffaloes of the Pac-12. The Bonnie fans shouldn't whine one iota about this one. With NET of 85, well below the NIT cut off line of 75, Bona was granted a gift NIT bid. Bona is lucky to be playing in Colorado in the NIT, and not in Daytona Beach, FL in the CBI like Drake (NET 82, the #1 Seed in the CBI), although Daytona would be a nice trip. The NIT is still > than the CBI in the college hoops pecking order. Compton and NextYearBill like this
Old guy
Good news for us (my wife and I), we got the email promoting ticket purchases for the first NIT game. We have not attended a single game because we refuse to follow the protocols. Since we believe we are free to choose what we do in this regard but we also believe that private venues can choose their own requirements for admission, we were getting ready to sit home and hear yet another game over the radio. However, the email sent to my wife by SLU contained the following information, so we bought our tickets on the spot. We are looking forward to our first basketball game in a couple of years. SLU finally appears ready to accept our money by changing their requirements for attendance. Love it! On March 7, 2022 Saint Louis University updated their COVID-19 protocols. In accordance with this and effective immediately, attendees of all Chaifetz Arena events will no longer need to provide proof of vaccination, a negative test result, nor obligated to wear a mask in the venue. Cowboy II
-in trying to determine if there is any money for the school by playing in the NIT I found this, guessing the parts of this still in place are the per diem and $4000 per game - https://www.sportico.com/leagues/college-sports/2021/ncaa-nit-revenue-1234625859/ -any posters find other info on finances of the NIT?
