While I hope this won't be the reality, it is heading in that direction.

ACE
I think I now officially hate college basketball - I especially hate the NIL and have not been a fan at all of open free agency. billiken_roy
If my fears of splitting D1 come true (won't be tomorrow but I fear it's coming) I won't pay what I pay now for my tickets if at all. AnkielBreakers
Has Ramey decided where to go? Can he be a PG? I think he could replace Yuri. I know he normally hates us, but there is a massive opportunity here.

It's nothing or program with wealthy boosters to throw 50K at a mid-major player. I can't fathom how mid-major programs can play and win under those rules. AnkielBreakers
Here is another name, Andre Curbelo. Obviously, his numbers were bad this year. However, his numbers are somewhat similar to Yuri’s as a Fresh/soph. Maybe Ford can turn him into a good player.

He coaches at Florida Blah Blah Blah. In basketball, a star player can have a much bigger effect. Any program could commit $1 M on a single player, and then pay it back over 10 years. How much money can Kansas and Kentucky actually spend yearly? I think basketball has the ability to even this out, if the smaller teams can figure out how to game it. The big difference and change to expect over time, is that coaches salaries will go from 1-2 million, down to 2-5 thousand. That is what I expect. Redirecting $1 million of booster money going to the head coach to NIL would give you $100,000 each for ten players. Zink likes this

Does NIL money negate the great recruiters? Could someone like Soderberg (not a good recruiter, but a good bench coach) now have a greater chance for success if he had boosters willing to handout NIL money?
