Bay Area Billiken
To call this place a “stadium,” is quite a stretch.

This field reminds me how much I hate grunge.

SLUBALLS
Disappointing end but great season. SLU is back on the map. Time to regroup, recruit, and get back at it.

Bay Area Billiken
I feel like I did 20 years ago at a wet, torn up field at Stanford. It's been a tough 3 1/4 hours to be a Billiken. But onward.

BAB, rough estimate of how many of that 3k were our fans? How’s our alumni group out there? I had one American Airlines and Hilton tab open as we watched in anticipation of booking a DFW-RDU weekend, but I guess now I’ll be off to Naples to celebrate my parents 44 years of wedded bliss. You win some, you lose some.

You win some, you lose some. I wasn’t there. My observation was from watching the game stream and prior review of the “stadium” on the UW Huskies web site. A lot of fans were standing up, around the field past the small grandstand. The attendance figure was from the box score. I did look into going. Had the weather forecast been better, I may well have. Seattle is a 2 hour flight from the SF Bay Area. While I don’t know about Seattle, SLU has a decent amount of alumni here in the SF Bay Area. SLU has hosted several events when the Cardinals are out here playing the Giants and once the A’s. Also one Sunday afternoon event some years ago before Cards vs. Giants WashU held an alumni event and they invited us to join them.
Bay Area Billiken
The College Cup Final Four: #8 Clemson vs. #4 Notre Dame; #3 Georgetown vs. #2 Washington. Clemson, Notre Dame and Georgetown all advanced on penalty kicks from their quarterfinal matchups. Clemson was the only road team to advance from the quarterfinals. Gremio14
One positive takeaway from last night: there is no doubt in my mind Kalish has constructed an elite program. We gave as good as we got with the #2 team in the nation. I would love a rematch at Herman on a dry field…
Bay Area Billiken
Re the field, the comically pathetic field management attempt was the small area of sod patches placed in the middle near the teams' sideline. The left end zone, where UW scored its 2 first half goals, was mostly mud. The UW stream announcer analyst mentioned sand has been dropped on the team sideline area. SLUBALLS
We were in this game stat wise. Wash converted on their two moments and we didn’t. I wish Parker’s shot hadn’t been saved. Huge save by the keeper. BilliesBy40 likes this
Bay Area Billiken
Yeah, the UW stream analyst praised the SLU Goalie, said the score could have been 5-0. That was a stretch IMO. The stats say otherwise, although I didn’t see many SLU scoring chance finishes aka shots on goal.
