billikenbill
That was a home game for Boise as well. Crazily bad numbers in that game. In 62 possessions, they had 14 turnovers and 32 of their 58 shots were behind the arc where they made only 6. They had 16 offensive rebounds resulting in 15 second chance points which means they got virtually nothing from their set offense. The way we defend there’s a good chance we can shut them down. The question is can we limit turnovers and get going from the arc. laker119 likes this

I do not think anyone would think we are hopeless this year, win or lose against Boise St. By the way, in TR rankings Boise St went from 43 to 62 (below SLU) in the overall TR rankings, while CSU Bakersfield went up from 253 to 218 in the overall TR rankings after the game last night. SLU remains at 60 after the the SFA game win. So, at least from the point of view of the TR rankings we are evenly matched.

You know they are a team that has the potential to beat anyone on any given night, but before they do, they go out and lose some awful home games just so that their beating you makes the loss even worse of a hit to your chances to make the tournament. I have no love loss for Kansas, but that loss will be considered by the committee and already has dropped Kansas's seed from whatever it was going to be. Compton
Mizzou beat a dude named Paul Quinn. Paul struggled to find his rhythm in the first half, but had a solid second half after some halftime adjustments. SLU_Lax likes this

No idea on the quality of NAIA basketball but it sounds similar to Harris Stowe. I think the fact that they weren’t totally destroyed by Mizzou says a lot. cgeldmacher
Is is correct that Boston College and Rhode Island have already played each other twice this season?

Yes. The first was a regularly scheduled game at Kingston. The second, four days later, was in the loser's bracket of a tourney in Daytona Beach. Eight and six points wins for the Rams. courtside
Memphis has lost back to back games vs Iowa St., and tonight, Georgia. Porter Moser’s Oklahoma team (7-1) knocks off Florida. Also, per the school, the Washington Huskies Men’s Basketball team has to postpone its game at Arizona Thursday, due to COVID-19 protocols within the Washington program. (The SLU Men’s Soccer team is in Seattle, and they play their NCAA Quarterfinal game at Washington Saturday night.)

Taj79
Sure. But a new coach's honeymoon lasts about two to three years, maybe four if progress is shown. Cuonzo opened with a 20 win season, then regressed to two 15 win seasons both under .500. He made the Dance in last year's abbreviated COVID season but was only 16 and 10. Now he's off to a 4 and 4 start with losses to UMKC sand Liberty. His roster is at best suspect and includes only 3 kids from Missouri itself plus one kid from Belleville, his supposed neck of the woods. He doesn't have a lot coming the pipeline just right now either. In compariosn, on eonyl need to look to our bench to see major differences. And my question is presented bASED ON KNOWING tIGER FAns are not exactly a patient lot. Mizzou's immediate schedule does nto look bright ... Eastern Illinois, Kansas, Utah and Illinois before SEC season opens. And according to Andy Katz, there are eight teams much better and higher ranked than Mizzou. Just fun theater to watch. KenPom only has Mizzou favored to win 2 more games this season: their next game hosting Eastern Illinois on 12/7 and their final game hosting Georgia on 3/5. I know it is unlikely, but a 21 game losing streak would be hilarious. Based on the probabilities of winning each game KenPom projects they'll actually win 6 more games to finish 10-21 (4-14 in SEC, tied w Georgia for last). Also worth noting that KenPom has Mizzou ranked 142 right now which is down from 95 to start the season, but still seems ridiculously high.
