ditto.    i have both a cardinal red batting practice jersey and a braves navy batting practice jersey with "Cepeda 30" on the back of both.

heading to Atlanta the weekend of June 19th to watch the show down.   unfortunately will be wearing the navy jersey for those games.  wife will obviously be wearing her red jersey though.

Nice! Have you been to the new ballpark yet? It’s really nice. The Battery is awesome. I’m down in West Palm now. My cousin and I are going to the Braves’ first game in Miami. It’s June 11th.  I’ve never been to Marlins Park, so I’m excited to see it.

Love: Billikens, Cardinals, Blues

Like, and actively cheer for: White Sox (wanted an AL team to cheer for when I was in high school), Colts & Pacers (perfect pairing with STL since they have NBA & NFL and we have MLB and NHL; also Indy is only about a 3 hours 15 minute drive), Indiana University (my son is starting there in the fall so I'm learning); and, sorry, Mizzou football and basketball (my father was a huge SLU and Mizzou fan when I was growing up so it goes way back)

Don't cheer for, but appreciate from a distance: SF Giants, Boise State Football, GB Packers, Gonzaga

Hate: Rams (way out front), Cubs, Blackhawks, Redwings, Ohio State, Kansas, and any NBA team made up a several stars who all decided to sign with the same team thinking that they will dominate.

i was at the new stadium 3 years ago.  had nice seats in the right field corner.   we got there early and walked around the battery.   it is nice.   the only negative was getting back to our hotel after the game.   had a shuttle that took over an hour to go about a half of a mile.  we shoulda just walked back.   wished someone at the hotel had warned us.   i am definitely going to plan an escape route for our next outing, however my wife and I hate to leave any sports event early.   so not sure if we can be successful or not.

ive never been to marlins games.   i have been to rays games.   i assume they still play at the awful feeling indoor park near st pete ithink it's "tropicana field?   the only thing i remember about it was they had taken the seats away in the left field corner and filled with sand for "the beach".  thought that was weird.

New Marlins Park is pretty cool.  We were there for the Cards series and the back window wall was open.  Just don't try to walk and drink beer in there, it is forbidden.

Like: Billikens, Miami Dolphins, Miami Hurricanes, Yankees and Cardinals.  Got into the Blues a few years ago during the Cup run.  I watch a lot of college baseball root for the Canes, Noles, Vandy and Tenn.

Dislike: anything Mizzou and any crap team from Detroit that Backhand likes.

Yeah, I think they still play at the Trop. I’ve never been, but doesn’t surprise me. My cousin says that at Marlins park, there are usually so few fans, you can pretty much sit anywhere you like. Which is good for us, but obviously not great for the Marlins.

I’ve actually never seen a game at Suntrust/Truist. I was in Atlanta for a weekend in March a few years ago, when they were obviously in FLA for spring training, so I signed up for a guided tour of the stadium. Turns out, I was the only person taking the tour that day, so I got my own personalized tour of Truist. It was pretty cool. Got to go on the field. Take my picture in the dugout. It was pretty great.

i was told that both tampa and miami areas are big retirees and transplant areas so their crowds vary a lot by the opponent and typically the fans cheer for that opponent more than the team.  i.e. yankmes or red sox show up the place will have 3x the fans.   mets or phils show up crowd grows.   kind of sad.   one would think over time the retirees or transplants if they were real baseball fans would adapt and come to all the games.   i could see their lifetime allegiance to a team being strong, but my gosh go to some other games and root for the rays or the marlins too.

roy ---- kind of a similar situation with the Nats in DC.  No one really lives in DC ... they are all transplants and really hold no allegiance to the city or its teams.  The same can be said for the Wizards.  Now, on the flip side, you've got passionate fan bases surrounding the Redskins (WFT) and the Capitals.  Maybe that's because both were fixtures (the WFT moved there from Boston in 1937) or expansion franchises (1974) while the Wizards came from Baltimore and the Nationals from Montreal.  I have been to two vgames at Nats Park ---- one because they Phillies were in town which was back when I cared and the other was to escort a Red Sox fan to see his heros.  Washington's recent baseball success will be interesting if the tide turns and the team wanes.  Everyone loves a winner.
