The ol’ Will Rogers Turnpike! 80 MPH…just remember - don’t drive into the smoke!

That's funny. Don't drive into smoke is a joke between my brother and I. Anytime one of us his driving home to DFW the other will call about when we enter Ok and remind you not to drive into smoke.

Gotta be careful that first 10 or so miles on 69 after Big Cabin. Smokey's looking to get you there

Seriously. There are a few different ways to skin a cat driving to/from STL and DFW.  In the fall, it’s always 44 to Big Cabin because that part of Missouri is incredibly beautiful. And staying east of Tulsa is good, too. 69 to 75 Central Expressway is a pretty easy drive.

If time is of the essence, though, I usually take I-30 Jerry Jones Hwy to Little Rock and pick up US 67 that takes me into I-55 around Festus. It says 9.5 HRs but it can be done in 8, especially if you can control your bladder and the Arkansas Highway Patrol gods are smiling down upon you.

in case any of you dont do twitter or missed it, Stu found he had cardio issues had two severe blockages and docs took the necessary steps.   i wished him well and offered prayers and he replied with thanks.  so apparently doing well.

his symptoms were exactly like mine were seven years ago when i had my heart attack.    if you take nothing else from this, when you see the signs dont pass it off because "it didnt seem that bad".   get it checked out.   if you wait for the big pain, it will likely be too late.

Symtoms of CAD vary a lot. My father had an MI without chest pain, his pain was in the back between the shoulder blades. He died 2 days after he got the pain, he was 67 at the time. This was long ago, there were no stents then.

Yes indeed I agree with Roy. Do not take severe pain symptoms lightly and remember that heart attacks present differently in different cases.

All my best wishes to Stu.

Roy we're discussing driving through OK as fast as we can and Stu's songs don't bring us down.  Did the drive on Saturday stopped at Choctaw Casino won $190 in about an hour.

But I gotta keep going south past DFW southbound 35.

Oh man. This one takes me back, but not as much as Robert Earl Keen’s “Front Porch Song” from when he played at the Sons of Hermann Hall does. That’s music. He wrote that song with Lyle Lovett.
