MusicCityBilliken Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Cushing been around since 1865 and could be considered a high end New England prep school. Not exactly a basketball factory. Tuition: $63,700 (boarding); $43,400 (day). Bette Davis (the actress) was an alum, class of '26 (last century . So I can understanding wanting to go to Cushing. Cushing is known for cranking out hockey players. Many alums in the NHL. Quote

VeniceMenace Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Anyone guesstimate how many locals this class received SLU offers? Not a VTime rant, just curious. Quote

No idea, but with immediate and unlimited transfers, the home town advantage would seem to be severely diminished when a player is picking his first school. He’s not locked in all four years, if it doesn’t work out or he gets homesick, he can always transfer year 2 and play right away. Also, our reputation is in the gutter locally, even with Schertz at the helm. We need to string together some NCAA appearances, and local players will want to start playing for us again. In the 2027 class, SLU has offered 6 players that I would argue are locals. Brock Bass-Bonner, Anthony Bonner's son, was in Georgia but transferred up to Cardinal Ritter for this season. He has been a priority target from the beginning. Scottie Adkinson already committed to Mizzou. Sekou Cisse and Gassim Toure are both at Principia. It was announced a month ago that Toure was transferring to Hamilton Heights Academy in Chattanooga, but he has deleted those posts and has been posting about Principia again, so maybe he's staying. Jimmy McKinney, III is at Vashon. Tyran Frazier was at Hazelwood East but transferred to the Overtime Elite League. I'm not sure if he's related to Corey Frazier, who's a coach at OTE. There's still time with this class, as they're only beginning to start their junior season practices. VeniceMenace 1 Quote
