What’s the soccer commit indirectly related to SLU?  The Minneapolis trade?

2027 Jacy Hackler. Jacy is a player that turned down interest from some high level programs to stay home and commit to Kansas. She and her family worked with Jason Booker (Deputy AD for External and Revenue Generation) at KU on the commitment.

Jacy is 1 of 16 forwards to play either U15 or U16 the past 2 years with the United States Youth National Team. She is an on the rise player who helped her KC Athletics 09 team to back to back ECNL national championship games (they lost both finals) at U15 last year, and, U16 this year. She had 10 goals and 3 assists in 7 playoff games this Summer. She was considered the best forward in the playoff finals. High motor, speed, creative, finishes. She is currently at this U16 USYNT Camp in Carson, CA.

SLU is hoping to do the same with a local target. SLU has been getting closer and closer each year trying to land these types of players. Last year they did well but they came up short for 2 local USYNT players.

He has the relationships with coaches, players, staff. SLU admin, families, travel boosters, and other people nationally. The way to obtain information, is by spending time with people who produce information. He’s even still friendly over the years with recruiting targets families that didn't even choose SLU.

And as Skip or others that talk with him more frequently away from here will tell you, he isn’t arrogant at all. He voluntarily shares information that he doesn’t have to share, with nothing to self promote, and he leaves. He isn’t here to hang out. He doesn’t read most of the threads. Seems like a win/win for readers. And, what he shares is a small percentage of what he knows. Mutual respect is why he keeps getting the information. But some people are here for other reasons.

It isn’t difficult to keep the information going but there is a minimum amount of decency required. Away from here much of the discussion is about Men’s basketball as you’d might expect. He mostly stopped posting about Men’s basketball long ago with rare exceptions. It’s more Olympic Sports and other things now. We’ll take it.  And this is a good way to end that too.

And with a recent death in his family, you may want to hope he doesn’t leave altogether soon if still want that information.

What a guy!

Mizzou is garbage.  Lost their best scoring option to boot.  Enjoy it while we can, they might actually bring a real coaching staff in after they drop the current version.

Spell the name of our school correctly please.  I hope we drop about 5 goals on them.

Sunday August 24th is SLU Women’s Soccer’s home opener. It’s a doubleheader with SLU Men’s Soccer:

5pm  SLU Women’s Soccer hosts Missouri

7:30pm SLU Men’s Soccer hosts SMU.

Mia Berardi is a 2027 SLU commit from Algonquin, Illinois.

Mia is a Central Defensive Midfielder, who can get forward as a box to box midfielder. She is the Captain for the Rockford Raptors 08 team. The 09 team won the rugged ECNL Midwest Conference this past Fall. (That league includes Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin etc..) The teams combined for their Spring Super Cup team. A physical defender, Mia was also a stand out player offensively at the recent national showcase events in Florida and Texas, scoring several goals and providing assists in addition to her defense.

They begin their playoff quest next weekend in San Diego.

Mia attends Huntley High School. She  played Super Cup Club Soccer this Spring. She has also been USYNT ID Camp participant.

How can they not be ranked?

A few reasons.

The annual United Soccer Coaches’ (USC) preseason poll often closely resembles the year end polls of the previous season. (The Men’s preseason poll for example, is identical to the year end poll last year) There was a little more variation this year with the Women, but 23 of the same 25 preseason ranked teams were the same as the end of last year. SLU and Auburn were not but they were close. From 22 to most votes received non top 25. SLU was 1 of 5 non P4 programs out of 35, to get any votes at all.

Last year SLU was 12th in the preseason USC poll, 8th in the Top Drawer Soccer (TDS) preseason Poll. SLU was 3 minutes from the Elite 8 the year prior.

This year SLU is just beyond 25 in USC preseason poll They were 22 in both polls to finish last year, after losing in OT for a spot in the Sweet 16.

They lost a lot this offseason - Gaebe, Puricelli, Heckel, Sawyer, Houck, Stram, Le. It's a lot of proven all-conference talent out the door, including the best keeper in program history and the career points leader. They have some solid returners but a lot of freshmen and some open questions, like the center backs. They're still the team to beat in the A10 until someone else wins the thing. Being in the "also receiving votes" section seems spot on to me - this is a proven program and should be good again, but with more uncertainty than usual.

Should be an exciting season, honestly. We'll figure out who's the next top keeper, big goal scorer, center back anchor, key set piece taker, etc. Loads of opportunities for the younger players.

Hopefully and probably Caroline Chier will be one of those difference makers

Maddie DiMaria? Ella McNeal? Other?

Edit: Assuming DiMaria and McNeal are still involved with USYNT activities this summer, it's probably other.

Currently guessing the identity with several lurkers in my DMs.  Hit me up if you want in.

yeap..Hannah L alone ensures the season will be exciting.  She’s one of those rare players who can make something happen on their own time after time.  IMHO best one on one player at SLU since Isaiah Parker took his game to the pros..

One doesn’t have anything to do with the other. SLU and many other schools recruit USYNT players every year. They have several events each year with a mix of USYNT pool players.

One player played U16 USYNT with DiMaria and McNeal last week in SoCal. She then took an official visit to Iowa, where she committed shortly after the visit. (Rockford Raptors GK Malia Zillman) ZIllman also did the San Diego camp in January, and, the Spain trip in April. Jacy Hackler was also on the 24 player roster in Los Angeles. She committed to Kansas.

DiMaria, for example. visited Stanford this past weekend after her trip to Los Angeles. SLU is also recruiting other USYNT pool players too.

There are others way to go about asking for information.

What other ways to go about asking for information do you recommend? I’m unfortunately somewhat limited because I put your source on ignore after he accused me of plagiarism, so when he posts this is what I see:

So if you have ideas on how to go about asking for information other than going to courtside directly, please help.

My advice would be to not plagiarize, and to be decent to people. If you take and use info from some place or person, reference the place or person including anyone here, including anyone you don’t know or like. It’s really not that difficult. If you forget or don’t do it some time, simply say my bad, correct it, and move forward or you will run into issues with anyone. Troll posting or liking troll posts like you seem to have done here a few post back, taking a quick glance, probably doesn’t help you either.

You have to ask yourself why are you here. It’s not a competition .And again, ask other regular posters or former posters that talk elsewhere, it’s not that difficult. He’s one of SLU’s biggest travel boosters. The information flow is pretty endless, if you’re decent. Why ruin that? Ask Skip what percent of stuff he actually shares here that he knows. It’s pretty small.

He had a recent death in his family so he will probably be posting a little less often too. That’s my advice.
