WIsconsin - Marquette  <Big rivalry game that could go either way every season. >

Boy that sounds fun. What a natural thing, kind of like blue chip Kentucky and conference climbing Louisville our old label mates if you will. Lets see what do they have in common? both match the eponymous biggest school in the state vs private school that is in the largest city in said state. If only we had such a.......

Some MBM's feelings would be hurt if this happened In Missouri.

I think some MBM’s just realized it is a small time look to beg for a game against a program that doesn’t matter in the SEC.  the Billiken program is well past that point.  Mizzou doesn’t want the game.  Why whine about something that isn’t going to happen when we don’t need the game?  We don’t need to beg for games against a program that we have been more successful than over the past decade.

No amount of complaining will change anything until the big donors at Mizzou decide they need a home and home series. All this talk is just wasted energy that would be better directed elsewhere

Marquette and Wisconsin have played each other since 1917. Close record, and they have split the last ten. Only Louisville v Kentucky have played each other more times as non-conference in state rivals. Duke v UNC have played more but are in conference twice a year with possible conference tourney game. Wisconsin catches a break on the road this year with no fans allowed.

College hoops is a game of matchups. Marquette dominates the first half at times with double digit lead. Then Oklahoma St. went zone and Marquette had no answer, few if any adjustments for it in game. They went from a half time lead to struggling quite a bit in the 2nd half.

Oklahoma St. presented quick, fast, zone trapping with lots of length. It worked well for them at a needed time when the game was getting out of hand the other way. Marquette defended well, but their 2nd half offense in that game was bad.

Wisconsin historically doesn't play zone, and has a much different team that presents much different challenges. Marquette still has enough talent and ability to bounce back in a different game. But they'll have to play better in a quick turnaround. i don't think their COVID-19 timeout helped them either. We'll seem They'll need better guard play from Carton and Torrence. Garcia will likely be signficantly better.

No result of this game would surprise me either way.

Wish SLU and Mizzou would play annually.

That folks is a typical Marquette v Wisconsin game. Only thing missing was a sold out crowd.

Watching Central Arkansas play Little Rock on ESPN plus. 66-63 Little Rock with 8 mins. to go. UCA has an excellent point 5'11 point guard, every bit as shifty as Yuri and can hit the three. They go 6'6, 6'7, 6'7, 6'9 across the front. Decently skilled players but no wide bodies and none especially quick. I can see why they were leading Memphis 42-40 at the half, but can also see why they wore down in the second.

Little Rock pulls out a 86-83 win over UCA. UCA is a pretty decent team, much better than SIUE. French should be able to dominate their bigs but with their shifty point guard, I could see them making a game of it for a while. Still expect a 10-20 pt. win though.

Richmond revealed that the emperor in Lexington has no clothes and now a mediocre Georgia Tech squad is getting into the act.  Georgia Tech by seven at the half.  The Kentucky diaper dandies will get better eventually but it will be fun watching Calipari whine as they take their lumps.

KU now down 15 with about 6 minutes left. A loss here should drop them out of the top 20.
