For anyone who’s interested, Lunardi released his newest Bracketology today. He has the Billikens as an 11-seed in “Region 2” facing Louisville in the 1st round.

Just so I am on record.  I think Yuri has the ability to greatly increase his Free throw shooting.  It would not shock me to see him shoot at a 75% clip.  French on the other hand I would be shocked to see him climb to even 55%.

I feel like it is just one of those things that we need to learn to live with.  French cant be on the floor in the close game at the end.

In high school, Yuri shot over 70% from the line and Thatch shot about 80%.  It's just a matter of time before their college percentages improve.

-I hope that is a motivating factor for him to cure his FT ills

I do not question his motivation.  Sometimes is it just hard for someone who has superior strength to calm everything down and become consistent at free throws.

I actually think Ford is taking the right approach.  Just do our best with no pressure and let the consequences play out.

I do not think French obsessing about Free throws is good for the team in the long run.  He is our Ben Wallace.  Just keep dunking on everyone and grabbing boards

It's worth noting Linssen shot .699 from the FT line last season, which is basically the national average (right around 70% in recent years). Bell was .638 from the line last season in 58 attempts. I think we'll see increases in both percentage and makes from him. So even if French doesn't improve, we have the ability to substitute strategically down the stretch without sacrificing size - and with more experience behind him this season. Over his career, French has been in the game on some crucial late offensive in-bounds plays when he should've been sitting.

REPOSTING WITH UPDATED INFO:

Below is what I have compiled for the 2020 nonconference schedule:

11/25: SIU-E (Billiken Classic MTE)

11/28: LSU (Billiken Classic MTE)

12/5: Arkansas Pine Bluff

12/8: Central Arkansas (source: https://ucasports.com/schedule.aspx?path=mbball)

12/12: Evansville (source: https://gopurpleaces.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule/2020-21)

12/15: Indiana State (source: https://gosycamores.com/news/2020/9/28/sycamore-basketball-adds-saint-louis-to-2020-21-slate-lose-dayton-due-to-covid-19-changes.aspx)

12/20: Minnesota (source: https://gophersports.com/news/2020/11/18/mens-basketball-gopher-basketball-announces-2020-21-schedule.aspx)

12/23: UMKC (source: https://kcroos.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule)

That leaves us with 1-2 possible additional games to fill for the nonconference schedule. Anyone have any insights into the remaining schedule?

I would think that’s all.  Only thing is figuring out 2 or 3 in Lincoln

No SIU Carbondale? Jeesh, that ought to be doable. It's a bus ride. Even though we despise them almost as much as Mizzery can't we call up Mo State and arrange a game? It's not like anyone has a full schedule.

Thanks for putting this together.  It should now be on the front page.

Looking at most schools who have shown their schedule, most seem to be right around the 6 mark in OOC

I wouldn't expect more than one additional buy game to be announced, based on other teams' schedules. I also wouldn't be surprised if this is it.

As the schedule stands now, we have a 10-day gap between LSU and Central Arkansas, and another 10-day gap between Minnesota and Duquesne. Those will be painful. I really hope at least one of them gets filled with another game.

Per Stu, they may have an A10 game between LSU and Central Arkansas.

That, plus a third game in Nebraska...got to level the playing field..if you’re the LSU coach do you want to play your third game in four days, against SLU, while SLU has played just one in that timespan? Nuts.

Fan guy looked back into the post history and it appears SLU is still supposed to play Boston College.
