Bubble Watch 2020

If we beat Dayton, that should be enough.

That will do it. It will mean 7 straight victories. And almost no bubble team is going to have a top 10 NET win on their resume. As much as we're happy about the bracket, we won't play a top 100 team in the Quarters. That means don't really improve our standing with a win on Friday.

On the other side, I imagine Richmond is in with a win in the Quarters. Definitely in if they get to the finals. URI probably needs to win it all at this point. As insane as it sounds, A-10 can still get anywhere from 1-4 bids (although URI or SLU jumping up may keep Richmond out).

*** IT.... Lets just win the whole damn f-ing A10 tournament. To be the champs, you gotta beat the champs... 2019 A10 Tournament champions coming to Brooklyn, watch the F out

Defending champs. Rolling through the last 5 games of the schedule. Gotta love the confidence this team must be bringing with it to Brooklyn.

If we play Dayton, you know Toppin will get his. The question becomes, "Will we ever be able to stop Crutcher?" That guy is just an assassin.

SLU NET is 49, now the 2nd team OUT. 1st team OUT is UNI. However, 47 Minnesota (13-16) would be last team IN and we know that won't happen. And 33 Purdue is 16-15.

NET vs. RPI transfers 5 precious bids to the Power 5, all 5 to the Big Ten! Two (2) each come out of the AAC and A10, including SLU at RPI 38 or 39. One comes from the Valley (UNI). A Big 12 bid under the NET goes to the SEC under the RPI.

SLU at least should now be on the Bubble. UNI is frozen; SLU can still make more hay in Brooklyn.

Re the proven claim that the NET is rigged in favor of the Power 5 +1, to be more specific, the NET is rigged in favor of the Big Ten Conference of Mediocrity.  The Big Ten is the one Power 5 conference that is really benefiting from the 2nd year application of the NET instead of the RPI, getting a whopping 5 extra NCAA bids per a pure application of the NET.

The 20 game conference schedule is the issue.  Instead of playing the Florida Gulf Coast's and Bethune Cookman's as two buy games, the Big 10 teams are playing each other.  We need to up our schedule next season, and as the P5's will all be at 20, it will be very tough.

Win the quarters game and our NET probably jumps to around 46/47, beat Dayton and it will move into the 30s. I really don’t see how a close loss against Richmond in the championship game would hurt us too much. Would finish the year 24-9, high 30s NET, 3-6 Q1, 2-2 Q2, 11-1 Q3 while playing our best basketball of the season

i could see us playing in Dayton with that resume easily. But I agree with some of you guys.... let’s just win 3 next weekend

Next Year we’ll have the non-con tourney with Gonzaga, Auburn, Mich St, and Xavier. Well also get SDSU in the Mt West-A10 challenge and a few other decent challenges. Should be fun

Do we get Auburn next season at home, or is it the 21-22 season?

Just guessing here, but with Siena, Boise State and Belmont also in the Thanksgiving Tourney, I'll assume we will be in the 'second tier' with them, meaning we play one of the four schools in your list. Then it depends on W/L who we play in the next two games. That could be some great games or some not so great games.

Boston College comes here, but that could be a Q3 game.  I believe we also play at SIUC.  Not sure if Kansas State comes here or not.  @slu72 Auburn is 21-22 since they are in the tourney with us.  That was prescribed when all of this was being drawn up.

The young Billikens are surging, with 5 straight Wins, all by double digits, which provide more NET points. 23-8, 12-6.

SLU's NET was 75 through games of 2/14, so the Billikens have improved 26 slots since then.

Just Win Baby! And when you're SLU in the High Major Outside the Power 5 +1 A10, Just Win Big Baby!

Pac-12 has 5 IN under both the NET and RPI, the difference being Stanford IN under the NET but Out under the RPI, the reverse for Arizona State.

The Big Ten is the one raking in the at large bids under the NET, a whopping 5 of them, which is patently absurd. Those at large have to come from somewhere else, in this case 2 from the AAC, 2 from the A10 and 1 from the MVC.

I'm hoping this plays a part in the committee's mind. They usually say how you finish and are playing right now counts.

This has been the most accurate Bracketogist over the last 5 years. He currently has SLU as the last team in the “Next Four Out” area. Just need to pass 8 teams...

The Texas obsession is stunning. They got beat by 20+ yesterday against Ok State.

I really don’t understand why the bracketogists seem to ignore the NET. UCLA is 75, Texas 68, Indiana 60.... yet all considered ahead of us

To me, I think it’s a collective opinion that the NET isn’t highly valued by the committee.
