Pre-gaming at the field house let’s go Bills roll to a lopsided victory.

Hargrove is hitting a lot of practice 3’s about 4 feet beyond the arc.

As stated, I deferred from naming the GDT for those superstitious folks who want me to refrain.

Sitll, scouting the Colonials, it is interesting to note A10 Talk did not offer a OOC grade for the 6 and 8 Colonials when the A10 OOC was done.  They are somewhat a mess with their best win being a neutral site win over Evansville (who had beaten Kentucky).

Geedubya has four guys averaging over 10 ppg with Potter at 14.1 ppg, Battle at 11.6 ppg, Jack at 11.5 and Harris at 10.7 ppg.  Only Battle is a front court player but at 6’7” launched 12 of his 16 shots against the Bonnies from 3 point land.  Maceo Jack launched 10 of his 13 shots also from three in that game. Against the Bonnies, they started 6’7” freshman Chase Paar and brought leading rebounder Arnaldo Toro and Potter off the bench with Potter replacing starter Jameer Nelson Jr.  Last year’s find, 6’8” Spainard Javier Langaricahasn’t played since the December 21 loss to Harvard.  Toro is their leading rebounder at half a rebound under 10 per game.

Battle and Jack have each launched over 100 three to date so we need to shore that aspect of our defensive game up.  Their top three of Potter, Battle and Jack All shoot over 82% from the line with Potter shooting 44% from the field.

Based on mostly box scores but with some on hand viewing, it appears the Colonials are decent in the first half but don’t know how to close things out down the stretch.  They have lost games by 2, 4, 5, and 6 points and beat Boston University on a buzzer beater by 1.  They show a propensity for playing it close enough which doesn’t bode well for us given our last two outings.  Still taking Wiz’ points.   According to the talking heads on CBSSN, Geedubya is 5 and 0 when holding teams to 65 ppg.

Lines for tonight:  Saint Louis -11; Duquesne -7.5 at the Joeys; Rhodey -4 hosting Davidson; the Bonnies -1 at Mason; and La Salle +3 at Umass.

All at the half:  Rhodey 34, Davidson 30 (Davidson is playing a walkj-on).  Duquesne 38, the Joeys 23.  Mason 31, the Bonnies 27.  And close to halve, Umass 35, la Salle 32.
