SLU_Nick
Report from Stu is that thatch was practicing full speed. If he gets in the game today, it better be a standing O. I don’t care how we look. I just want to win.
Billiken Rich
Thatch getting back up to speed against BC would be fantastic. Perfect opportunity before conference play.

Old guy
I would hate to see Thatch thrown into the game against Bethune Cook, instead of keeping him in full practice status until the Duquesne game. There is some lost ground he has to regain before being played.

Dr. Holly Hills
So what is exactly up with yuri’s hands? I haven’t heard of hand injuries before that have pain and fingers going numb... other than boxers.

My guess would be they have to tape it up so tight it’s making his fingers numb. Like when you put a bandaid on too tight.
slu72
He said it's the tape tightness. Would imagine that slows the blood flow to his hands and causes the numbness. Yurimania playing thru it like a real trooper. Just imagine how good he'll be when he gets full feeling in his hands. Sheltiedave
His thumbs have been hyperextended multiple times, so taping them will lessen the severity when it happens again...he is a point guard, and his hands get hit every game. If they tape to allow the best dribbling position for the thumb, it’s probably hard to make pinpoint passes, and vice versa. When I tore my thumb tendon, the form guard I wore was real good at restricting movement and circulation. The doctor said wear it until it hurt too much,!and then don’t wear it til it hurt too much. The numbness can also be the tendon/bone interface reattaching and/or flexing past its current strength limit. It hurts like a MFer as it heals. It took Kurt Warner over a season to build the strength up and regain the feeling in his thumb after it healed from the fracture, and led to his trade from the Rams. Some of these injuries, which we know little about, linger for the entire season or more.
slu72
Hands and feet we tend to take for granted but they are fragile and injuries to them do tend to take a while to heal.

There's nothing worse than thinking your thumb is fully healed up then banging it on the steering wheel and it hurts so badly your eyes tear up. Sheltiedave
That is fine; it will take less time for Thatch to get up to game speed and integrated than the rookies. Hopefully Hargrove and Bell can utilize the extra time to take another incremental step in development.

Quality Is Job 1
So, how the Bills do against dribble penetration will be a key in this one? At least French is there as a back-line defender, unlike during the Maryville game.
