He was completely focused on the Chick Fil A promotion (10 FTs get the crowd Chick Fil A) that, while we had a player at the line(yes it's out of reach game but it's still serious business to take care of), he's reminding everyone that we only need one more free throw to get Chick Fil A. Ackerman asked about FT in the exhibition. Ford commented that they worked a lot this summer with both French and Goodwin on the FT’s. He believes there will be improvements. Complemented French and Goodwin on their board work during the Exhibition. Said Collins could have had 7 or 8 assists if his teammates had hit the baskets. Ackerman told Ford “this is your town”. Talked about Yuri, leadership of Goodwin/French/Thatch, the non-conference schedule, how the Mizzou/KU game hurts chance of SLU/Mizzou, the NCAA decision that players can make money off their likeness (he would prefer it to be spread out over all D1). Ended up talking about Jimmy Bell and how Ford is still undefeated at HORSE so he is the best shooter on the team and "definitely the best free throw shooter". He asked about if trying to schedule Mizzou was more difficult now. Even if Martin would have asked him about the Mizzou team this year, I would understand it with Travis. So you are basing a summer long effort on one exhibition game? Goodwin plus French took a grand total of 4 FT attempts. French has jumped all the way from 35% to 50%!!!!! That's HUGE improvement. Unfortunately, Goodwin looks like he will end the year with a goose egg. BTW, Thatch was 2-2 after hitting 61% last season. What did you see in his two attempts?
