wgstl
New kenpom rankings up, https://kenpom.com/ actually surprised we are ranked as high as we are. Kenpom hasn’t really been kind to us over the years, and we’re only around 30 spots from where we finished last season. Also kenpom isn’t good with freshman, especially ones who aren’t highly ranked. CenHudDude
All members of the BEAST including member to be UCONN are ranked in the top 100 in kenpom. Is kenpom meaningless pre-season?

Is kenpom meaningless pre-season? Probably, most are, nothing to go off of. just interesting to see what people or computers think. Also like I said above, computers can’t really figure freshmen, so it takes in a lot of proven numbers ie returning/transfers players
Aquinas
I reviewed the Slubillikens roster. Jacob's shot 43% from the arc, and 87% from the line in his last prep year... so he can shoot. I believe he stayed with this team because he is confident in his ability to play. The other interesting thing I noticed is that Hargrove is listed as a forward, along with being 6' 4", 195. Perkins as another example is listed as guard forward. I'm not sure who lists the positions or if it means anything. They also list Diarra as a center, and Bell as a forward, I can't imagine Bell playing anything but the 5 this year.

Old guy
Looking again at the prior video clip I commented upon and the montage of 4 pictures labelled team blue. Jacobs is easy to identify because he wears a L arm black brace. Yes, he is the guy dunking in the 4th picture of the montage.

It seems like the most common lineup is Goodwin, Jacobs, Thatch, French and Bell. Perkins was the only other player I noticed as rotating in with that group. I’d be surprised if those 6 didn’t lead us in minutes early on (Pending foul trouble or stamina issues). Popular Post Wendelprof
Went to the Chicago reception for SLU tonight. Dr Pestello, AD May, Coach Ford and the whole team turned out. Great evening. Coach Ford spoke about what a great group of kids this year's team has. He acknowledged that he can't say that about every team he has coached; that this is one of the teams that he's enjoyed coaching the most (also admitted that it will be interesting to see if he can still say that at the end of the season after the usual challenges a season brings). He talked again about playing up-tempo. I think it is more than coach speak. I think he really means it, he really wants to play up-tempo and thinks this team is built to do so (whether they can remains to be seen, but I think he's going to give them every opportunity to show they can do it). He was very positive about the players, the program, and the school. He seems like a coach who is genuinely happy with the immediate - and potentially long term - future at SLU. It was a great opportunity to meet the players. I met a handful of them (before coach took them away to watch film before tomorrow's scrimmage), and they all appeared to be impressive young men whom it will be easy to support. I live too far out of town (California, I just happened to be in Chicago so I crashed the evening) to get to many of the games, but I encourage everyone who can to catch as many games as they can. Win or lose, this will be fun group of players to support. TheDude, Box and Won, wgstl and 14 others like this
