thats why we(or I) were trying to figure out if if was 15 per player, or 15 combined between the two.  It has to be combined because ya thats not a lot, but thats a ton if Stu was saying both would log 15 per

No I'm sure he meant both, it still wouldn't be a lot. Most of that would cut into DJ and Hasahn's minutes.

I think what's more important than the exact minutes is the sentiment behind his statement: Coach Ford sees a future for Jacobs and Hankton in his rotation. That's why he's focusing on grad transfer bigs. He likes what he has on the perimeter. There hasn't even been a mention of bringing in help beyond the frontcourt.

Well yeah, he also doesn't need anymore transfers.

We're losing nearly 60% of our offense.  When Coach Ford experienced similar losses at OK State, the team did not make the postseason.

Getting all these new players, many of whom are first time college players, to meld with the returnees is a really tough job. On top of that, the A10 is getting better in a hurry. We could be a better team next year and still finish sixth.

I'm going to enjoy the process. If Coach Ford can retain this young core, sustained success is just a matter of time.

Agree and on paper losing that much scoring leads to a mediocre season...throw in a couple GT bigs with French, Goodwin and Thatch & it could change things.

With the hype that the board always gives recruits, it is easy to forget that the freshmen will not play a ton until they learn the system and prove they’ll play defense. At best this is usually not until conference play starts.

15 per for Hankton seems like lock for me.  Even competing with Hargrove, Perkins, and any new recruits - there are 120 minutes available at the 3 and 4.

Barring a GT taking his spot, Jacobs is likely the team’s 3rd guard until January at the earliest.

We still have 3 scholarships to give. I think who gets the bulk of the minutes is really dependent on who we bring in

There are 80 minutes available at the 3 and 4.

Wow, yeah guess I was still waking up when I wrote that.

Unless we play a LOT of overtime games.

I get the push to not use numbers anymore - but where does French play?  He will be our center and guard the other team's biggest player?

Why?  Why not say we have 80 minutes at the 3 and 5?

Here is where I am:  we have two returning starters whom I assume will start next season. That leaves three starters and a rotation TBD.

I think he was talking more with the roster as is.

Fred, get in the gym and work on that jumper.  There are incoming and current players who want your job.

This.  I don't want bros that will run from a challenge.  Level up, buttercup.

Thatchiepoo will set expectations from the get-go when some freshman tries to get in HIS lane and doesn't respect his Greek underground gay porn hard body.

Shaft will be fine.  But he do be needing that jumper.

Every day in the gym needs to be a fight.  If Thatch wants minutes, earn it.  If Thatch wants to start, earn it.

My dream is that Ford recruits over Goodwin and French, and they have to fight for their positions next season.  [Would we be good or what?]

which means you have big dreams for these last two scholarships to give imo.  no one on the 19-20 roster right now is going to put them on the bench.

Yea bench the guys who recruited for Ford and took a chance on him.... are you delusional!! They would all grad transfer if Ford takes them from 35 min freshmen and sophomore years to less than 25 min a game and not starting.

I understand what you mean but from a recruiting perspective, Ford would lose all local recruits when Goodwin’s camp teams up with gordons.

Luckily that won’t happen because Ford is smart enough.

I'd love this because that would mean we are most likely getting two top 20 recruits..

Always get the best players.  Thats what great programs do, they dont worry too much about sentimental feelings towards players

Also french and goodwin are on pace to be two of the top 3 players in our history, if they have trouble competing for spots/minutes to frosh and sophomores, either they weren't as good as we thought, or man those new players are amazing.

Could not disagree more.  It sounds like you would prefer a mediocre team of local talent over a better team of regional/national talent.  Give me the W's.  If the original recruits can't out perform the newer recruits, if they don't want it bad enough to demonstrate they belong on the floor, I'd tell them to deal with it however they need to.

I do agree that Ford is smart enough to put his best team on the floor, regardless of where they went to High School.

You are delusional. What talent out there that we can get will play over French and Goodwin? We have no other forwards

In recruiting there are tradeoffs.

two freshmen over 2 juniors that stuck with this program after everything is a slap in the face. Doing stuff like that gives you a bad rep. Why do you think Marquette just lost 2 of the top 100 ncaa players?

Wojo is gone after Howard leaves and is having difficulty recruiting after being a top 10 team this year.

This attitude is literally what is collapsing Marquette right now
