Whats most exciting to me about the potential of jimmy bell, is the fact he's already demonstrated the kind of heart and soul he has with what he's already accomolished physically.   I know personally the battle to lose weight.  In 4+ years ive lost and kept off 20 lbs.  This kid is approaching 100 lbs!  And thats with just hard work, lifestyle change and dedication.   This kid seems to have all the attributes to be a team inspiration and be part of winning.

What everyone needs to keep in mind, nearly 7 footers with a full body do not normally come to slu.   I.e. hes a work in progress.  We need to be patient.  But i am thinking in a couole of years we might be looking at the super sized Hasan French.  Oh boy!

True true. I don’t think we are dealing with Obi Okeafor here

Extra year prep school

im having hard time getting his prep school stats. Anyone with better luck? Looking for FT %

mhg

Didn’t see anything about his ft’s

7'0 280 lbs Center Averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 assists per game. Jimmy came to Bella Vista 7'0 370 lbs. He's worked hard to lose 90 lbs and is continuing to lose weight and transform his body. He's a great athlete for his size as well. We look forward to more highlights from the Big Fella in the near future!

Most 7 foot 18-19 yr olds are bean poles. When they enter college the emphasis is on adding weight and muscle. Hard to tell from the pics how muscular he is, but that can be changed as well as losing 20-30 lbs. Be nice to get Bonner on as a consultant to work with our bigs on footwork and other big man basics. As B'Roy pointed out hard to lose weight, so Jimmy B must have worked hard at it and shown the discipline to stick with the regiment. That's a great sign. And as they always say you can't teach 7'. Given the A10's history of not having many bigs this kid could end up being a dominator!

Here is a tweet from him a little over a year ago depicting the amount of weight that he dropped from the time of his arrival at BV.
