Most of us recognize certain facts, however. High school recruiting is a three year process, unless you are Kentucky or Duke or some blue blood program. When we lose a player two months before school starts, or after school starts, or at the semester break, it kills us. We lost our starting center, our starting power forward, and our best three point shooter. Wooden could not overcome this, so Ford gets a pass as well. Majerus got both his three point assassins from Oz and New Zealand. That source is now long closed, and the American bigs who can shoot are generally 4/5 star players. He did really well thr past 2 years considering what he had. But he's made some bad mistakes this season and he's not above criticism.
