Interesting thing with this conversation about recruiting is the fact that I've always heard people speak on Travis Ford as a great recruiter, so why couldn't he recruit some big transfer names. And while I think we could all agree he has gotten some good transfers,  I bet we would love to see another upperclassmen come in to solidify our roster along with adding depth so we can stop talking about SLU being short handed every year. Are we expecting too much out of Travis Ford? Is he underperforming? Have to again remember Bess, Foreman, and Isabell all were transfers who turned out to be great, or at least Bess and Isabell of late have been great. 

 

Where would you guys rate Travis Ford's recruiting thus far in his tenure with SLU?

B.  Good chance still in this class to get to B+ imo, but I'd say overall thus far a B.

Ya I see my stupidity in the joke now. Still think the bulk of what I said stands. Irregardless, we have to find a guy who's willing to listen to us, and come play for us. There are some great JUCO transfers out there, but some of them wouldn't give us the time of the day, and so we would be wasting time on them when we could be spending time on young guys willing to commit to the program for 4 years. Thats all that I was really trying to get at, misread it as you saying you wanted us to go after Zion in a sarcastic tone. Village idiot for the day.

As far as people he has gotten to sign to play for the Bills since he took over his grade has to be A even A+ if we are grading on the curve. That being determined for SLU only not for a generic member of the 351 D1 teams. Even the highest profile coach we ever had wasn't able to sign this many 3 and 4* . Unfair to grade him on recruiting based on who actually played unless there was some sign he was crooked. ?ing quality in the recruits isn't valid imo. The only one that was questionable from the get go was 'guy and who wouldn't take a chance on top 50 guy who decides to pick us half way through HS. Even his issues were childish selfish stuff not illegal or unethical.  

My fear is that midnight will strike and we will be back to WTF wants to come here days we've lived with last 1/2 century.

Record a video of your experience(s) in San Jose. Basically a blog in video format, I.e We stopped here and ate here. I’m sure they will describe the overall experience before and during the game. Though I don’t know if it will be a vlog.

It's kind of tough for me. I had considered bringing my GoPro, it was even packed at one point. It's just a TON of work to get the video and takes away from the overall enjoyment of the weekend. I have always been one to say stop recording and put the phone down at concerts and sporting events and enjoy the show. I will probably take some video here and there but I would want to actually bring a camera man with me as insane as that sounds.

I'll probably shoot some video at the pregame party and before the game. Collin isn't on the trip.

I'll be doing some video from the watch party as well. Anything that either of us records will come out in some video form after the fact. It may not be a "vlog" but it will be close.

Stuff I missed:

• Yuri Collins put that incredible MO Class 4 playoff run together despite being on 1.5 legs for the last 1.5 games.
• Gibson Jimerson's closest comp at SLU would be Drew Diener, who played at 6-5, 200 lbs. and shot .400 from 3 for his career. Jimerson should be better, though.
• Jimerson plays for Monteverde's CBD team, not varsity. I didn't clarify that they have multiple teams.
• Yes, it is too much to ask GJ to be Carson Edwards or Kyle Guy, but how about Fletcher Magee? That's who I'd like to see him emulate. Go after that 3-point record.

This was a lot of fun. Looking forward to doing it again.

Definitely look forward to having you as a recurring guest. It worked out really well, sorry for putting that extra pressure on you following Rammer.

We had an awesome interview with Anthony Drejaj last night. We still have two parts of our Cody Ellis show to release. All three of these episodes were so much fun I wish we could release them all at once!
