Davidson loses in OT to Temple on a steal/breakaway dunk to win it.  Game at Boardwalk Hall in AC.  Richmond loses at home to Oral Roberts.  Richmond's slash line is horrible.  No Grady in Davidson game; Don't know why.

Thanks HP.  Any indication what the injury is?  Doubt it's long term.  Luke Frampton scoring 24 is like when Marcus Bartley hit 8 or so threes in that A10 tourney game for us ---- mostly a rare aberration.

Not a real good day Sunday for the A10.  Below the median in my opinion.  We lose to a beatable Houston team, Dayton loses to a questionable Tulsa.  Fordham beats Howard (meh!) and Duquesne crushes Maine (double meh!).  The only decent win was Rhode Island putting away West Virginia in the Hall of fame Tip-Off.  Remember when that was in the birthplace of basketball, Springfield, Mass?  Now it's in a casino in Connecticut.  According to some, the style played by West Virginia allowed Rhodey to play run and gun, which is apparently a style in their favor.  Dowtin, Russell and Langevine were their usual selves but the open court brought other starters Jermain Harris and Christion Thompson alive and into double figures.  But make no bones about it, the current WVU team is nowhere near the past WVU team and is searching for itself at 6 and 4 now.

Speculation is such that the best the A10 can do given the lack of decent non-con results is place two in the dance come March.  But that is purely speculative as well.  Davidson and SLU remain in charge of their futures but they have to win two of three in Davidson against Wake Forest and UNC and SLU against Florida State.  Then they have massive runs in the conference schedule and if they lose the A10 tournament, the A10 would get the tourney winner and one of thos two in.  Long way to go however.

And it changes ---- this past week, I heard talk of how Dak Prescott is the best young QB out there.  Today, after the first Dallas shutout in 15 years, not so much.  It's cyclical, you have to play well when you have to play well.

From the A10 message board on Grady.  They play Wake Forest tonight.

He was in street clothes for the Temple game and listed as day to day. Last report I saw said that he had bursitis in his knee.

Looked at the A10 league stats today.  Bess is 14th in scoring at 14.6 ppg (Brown from St. Joe leads at 22 ppg), Bess is 23rd in 3 pt % at 37.0%  (Brown leads at 52% ), and Bess is 12th in FT% at 81.6%.  (Brookins from LaSalle leads at 89.3%).  Bess is only 7th in mpg (Grady leads at 36.9 mpg).  I thought he might be higher.

Bess is tied for 5th in rebounds at 7.4 per, French 7th at 7.3 and Goodwin13th at 6.1.  (Langevine from Rhody leads with 10.6).  Bess is 7th in A/TO ratio @2.6, with Grace from Richmond leading the pack at 6.0.  They only list 50 and neither of our PG are on the list.

Gordon is 4th in blocks at 1.9 per game, French 6th at 1.4 with Osunniyi from St. Bonnie topping out at 2.6.

Goodwin and Isabell  at are tied for 5th in Turnovers with 2.9 per game, with Langevine having the distinction of the worst handles in the A10 at 3.8 TO/G.  Steals, Goodwin 8th 1.9 and Bess 9th 1.8 with Richmond's Gilyard first at 3.4

Davidson down at half 33 to 24.  Wake's youth should keep Davidson in this game but the Wildcats are who they appear to be ---- without Grady, the focus is on Gudmundsson and he is struggling.  Luke Frampton is struggling also with a recurring shoulder issue.  Davidson is limited when Grady and Gudmundsson are struggling.   Now, with Frampton hurt, it depletes their bench even more.

Davidson’s Fr center is pretty impressive. I’m surprised Wake doesn’t double him.

Wake tops Davidson 67-63. Gudmundsson had 21, 14 in the second half, he's a great floor general. Their freshman center is a load, excellent footwork, hands, and shooting touch out to the arc. He's an old-fashioned looking center, for you old guys, he reminds me of Billy Paultz from St. John's, who shocked everyone with his successful 15 year ABA/NBA pro career. Couple of other good players as well, typical Davidson players who can all shoot and will surprise you with a burst to the rim. With Grady, they definitely beat a talented, but not ready for prime time Wake team.

I too was impressed with Brajkovic, their frosh center from Austria. He has a nice touch around the rim.  9 of 16 last night with 14 boards and 1 of 2 from the arc.  Davidson ran a classic pick and roll with him. It made me jealous.

I guess Wake didn't double Brajkovic in the post  in fear of leaving a three point shooter open.  Give Brajkovic a year in the weight room, and he will be a force.

I agree that with Grady, they beat Wake and Temple.  But unfortunately for Davidson and the A10, both go down as L's.  Wake is targeted for bottom quartile of the ACC.  Temple could certainly get an At-Large, if they don't win the AAC tourney.

Wake consistently ran out to double digit leads and Davidson never cut it to less than five until the final.  Davidson's two=man team of Gudmundsson and Brajkovic scored 40 (21 and 19).  Grady is listed as day-to-day with knee bursitis.  They next play Central Pennsylvania College on Saturday before closing out the OOC with North Carolina in Chapel Hill next Saturday.  I have never heard of CPC ---- and I'm 61 years old AND from Pennsylvania. Grady can miss that one and they'll still breeze.  He'll never miss the UNC game.

One thing the announcers did point out is that execution will level the playing field when facing superior athletic talent.  McKillop does get that.  Wake focused on defending the three ergo Brajkovic had room to operate.  The pick-and-roll dunk was a thing of beauty, rivaled Bess and Foreman's play from Sunday.  Gordon, French and Foreman can neutralize Brajkovic.  The key would be to not let Frampton add to the other two.  The rest are role players but that's what team is all about.

Tonight, the Bonnies go to a decent Vermont team.

-we have 4 games where combined DJF, CAG and HF don't have 16 fga and we have two of those three on the court most of the time

Unfortunately until we show we can hit open shots along the perimeter that could be the storyline for the whole season. Just watch how our bigs draw a crowd every time they get the ball on the inside.

McKillop's one of the best HC's in the country. Even though they lost it's enjoyable to see how well they function on offense.
