The Billikens are playing the East squad of the EA All Stars. This team won their first game over Va. Tech but has lost the rest of their games. Xavier beat them 100-63, L'Ville 90-78, Tenn 110-83, Cincy 92-75, Kentucky 94-61 and Old Dominion 106-65 (Ouch!!!). They played W Kent., OSU, and St. Johns all within 10 points though. Their roster looks like this --

33 Monty Buckley F 6'6" California

21 Mike Chappell G-F 6'7" Michigan St.

15 Al Faux G 6'2" San Diego St.

22 Paul Shirley C 6'8" Iowa State

23 Ricky Price G-F 6'5" Duke

1 Kameron Sufi G 6'1" St. Mary’s

5 Greg Grays G 6'0" Detroit-Mercy

25 Matt Howser F 6'8" Chico State

55 Lonnie Jones C 7'0" Ball State

31 Jamar Brown F 6'9" So. Colorado

I am not familiar with any of these players. I vaguely remember Ricky Price and he is touted on the EA site as this teams best player. Regardless this team looks like it has some nice size and will hopefully test us on the boards some. All the other teams had atleast a couple guys I remember seeing play. Johnnie Parker is on a team and Lucas Johnson is on another. Ed O'bannon (Top 10 NBA pick and Romar protege) is on a team, how far has he fallen? He has got to be pushing 30 too.

I believe Paul Shirley was a member of the Iowa State teams that won consecutive Big XII titles. Mike Chappell, if I'm not mistaken, was a role player on some Michigan State teams during their run of NCAA Tournament dominance. And I believe Monty Buckley played against the Bills when they met twice recently. I'll do some checking and get back.

Former Michigan State Spartan Mike Chappell averaged 5.9 points in 14.4 minutes in 2000, when MSU won the National Championship (it was his junior season, and he never produced much more). Also, he played his first two seasons at Duke (1996-98).

Former Iowa State Cyclone Paul Shirley had 15 points and five boards in 30 minutes of play in Iowa State's victory over the Billikens team led by Larry Hughes in the 1997 Puerto Rico Holiday Classic (he was a sophomore that year). In his junior season (2000), when Iowa State was the team that gave MSU it's stiffest NCAA Tournament challenge, Shirley averaged 7.7 points and 4.4 rebounds. He started just one game. In his senior season, when the Cyclones won the second of their consecutive Big XII titles, he averaged 10 points and 6.9 rebounds, and he started all 31 games.

Ricky Price played at Duke from 1994-98.

I was wrong about Cal's Monty Buckley. He was not on the teams that played the Bills in 2000-01 and 2001-02.

Mike Chappell originally went to Duke but transferred to Michigan State (he's from Southfield, MI) after his sophomore year and was a reserve on MSU's 2000 national title team (hitting 2 big shots after Mateen went down in the title game) and on the 2001 final four team. He never lived up to expectations and of my old co-workers who was a Duke grad said down at Duke Chappell only seemed to show up against cupcakes. Good outside shooter but won't give you much down low (very thin guy)

Greg Grays originally started at Penn State and transferred home to UDM, Decent player who replaced Rahard Phillips at the PG spot, his job was to get the ball to Willie Green on those Titan teams.
