We can also use this thread for the season records watch if you want, @HoosierPal. Here's what I've got so far:

-Javon Bess is probably going to come up a little short of the total points for a senior season list. He needs 516 (Lewis McKinney) for 10th, so we'd need to play 37 games if he stays at his average of 14.0. He's actually going to be closer to the 3-pointers made list, and would probably make it if he continues this pace. Davell Roby and Roland Gray are tied for 9th at 56, and Bess has 11 through 6 games, which would put him just above them for a full season. His rebounding average (7.2) is short of the 8.0 mark needed for the top 10, but he has a chance to hit 234 (Gray) for the total rebounds list. He's at 10 steals currently and needs 49 to tie Chris Sloan, Justin Love, and Darryl Leonard, so if he keeps up this pace, he'll pass all three. Also, it's surprising anyone on this team would have a shot at a FT% list, but his current rate of .853 would put him 5th all time for SLU seniors. He's actually not far off the 10th-place 3FG% threshold of .401, currently at .393.

-D.J. Foreman owns the junior class FG% record at .626, well above the second place mark of .574 (Tom Frericks), and that's where he'll have his best shot of cracking the senior class books. He's currently at .515, well short of the .554 he needs to crack the list, but maybe he'll keep trending toward his junior year level over a full season.

-Tramaine Isabell has the same number of steals as Bess (10), so the same comment is true for him: If he stays on this pace, he'll also make the top 10 all-time senior season list. His point average (13.2) makes the scoring figures a little tougher than they even are for Bess, but we also know that he's still finding his groove and capable of putting up big numbers. So he's a long shot but we'll see. He's got an outside shot at assists (has 16, needs 102) if he picks up the pace there.

-Dion Wiley isn't going to hit any marks at this pace. His best chance is 3P% but he needs to pick it up there. Currently at .348, and he's chasing .401 to crack the top 10 list.

-Jordan Goodwin's scoring would have to pick up significantly for him to sniff the top 10 lists in points (Luther Burden is 10th at 433) or average (Joe Wiley is 10th at 14.1). He needs 212 rebounds to tie Jim McLaughlin in 10th, and he's probably just shy of that mark currently. He's probably not going to get up to 7.9 RPG (Willie Reed, Dwayne Evans), currently at 6.4. He needs 37 steals to make that top 10 list, and at 10 currently, that's his easiest one to hit this season. He's also probably going to make the assists list; he has 22 and needs 97 (Charles Newberry). His percentages are better than last year at this time, but he's still short of all three of those lists.

-Hasahn French's 6-block game the other day boosted him quite a bit. Not only does that tie him in third for most blocks in a single game (Kelvin Henderson had 8 once, and Reed had 7 once; the others with 6 are A.R. Al Matiim, Melvin Robinson, Cory Remekun, and - wait for it - Elliott Welmer), but it's half his season total at this point. He has 12 and needs 19 to tie Matt Baniak and Tommie Liddell. At 7.4 RPG, he's short of Reed and Evans at 7.9, but he should make the total rebounds list (has 44, needs 212). He's also on pace to be 8th on the FG% list, bumping Howard Jackson and Joe Wiley to 9th and 10th.

-Carte'Are Gordon is going to be short of the total points (321) and average (11.0) thresholds to make the top 10 for freshmen, and he's also short on the rebounding numbers (158, 5.6). However, he's already halfway to the blocks list (Rob Loe is in 10th with 20) and has a shot at steals (Anthony Bonner is in 10th with 32). His current FG% of .600 would put him 3rd all-time for freshmen.

-Fred Thatch is said to have only 3 blocks and 1 steal at this point, and that seems short in both categories to me. Still, he has a shot to make the blocks list.

-Ingvi, K.C. Hankton, and Demarius Jacobs are not on pace for any freshman records at this time.

Ingvi either tied or set the Freshman season and Career record for the number of appendix removed.  Many are tied for second at zero.

lot of time left in the season. Smart $$ on Welmer he has the time. Indeed unbreakable but can be tied.

The team now has 40 blocks on the season, putting them on pace for 183 if they play 32 games (lose in first round of A10 Tournament, no postseason play). So assuming we don't bomb in March, we could be looking at 200-ish blocks this season.

The all-time SLU record for team blocks is 169, set in 2009-2010 (Willie Reed). Last year we had 146, good for second all-time in SLU history. So the record should easily be topped this year, and hopefully shattered.

Updated season record review through 10 games:

-Javon Bess is still probably going to come up a little short of the total points for a senior season list. He needs 516 (Lewis McKinney) for 10th, so we'd need to play 36 games if he stays at his average of 14.6. So it's not out of the question if he continues to score more or if we go deep in the A10 Tournament and play in a postseason tournament. He'll make the 3-pointers made list if he continues his current pace. Davell Roby and Roland Gray are tied for 9th at 56, and Bess has 20 through 10 games, which would put him in the 60s for a full season. His rebounding average (7.4) is short of the 8.0 mark needed for the top 10, but he has a chance to hit 234 (Gray) for the total rebounds list (he's got 74 currently). He's at 18 steals and needs 49 to tie Chris Sloan, Justin Love, and Darryl Leonard, so if he keeps up this pace, he'll pass all three and probably several more. Also, it's surprising anyone on this team would have a shot at a FT% list, but his current rate of .816 has him in the hunt; he needs to reach .829 for 10th. He's not out of the running for the 10th-place 3FG% threshold of .401, either, currently at .370.

-D.J. Foreman owns the junior class FG% record at .626, well above the second place mark of .574 (Tom Frericks), and that category is going to be a reach for him in senior class books unless something changes. He's currently at .420, well short of the .554 he needs to crack the list, but maybe he'll pick it up as the season goes on.

-Tramaine Isabell has slowed down on his early season steals pace, currently sitting at 13 and needing 49 to make the senior top 10 list. His point average (12.6) makes the scoring figures a little tougher than they are for Bess, but we also know that he's still finding his groove and capable of putting up big numbers. So he's a long shot but we'll see. He's got an outside shot at assists (has 22, needs 102) if he picks up the pace there.

-Dion Wiley isn't going to hit any marks at this pace, and his injured status is only going to set him back further. His best chance is 3P% but he needs to pick it up there. Currently at .333, and he's chasing .401 to crack the top 10 list.

-Jordan Goodwin's scoring would have to pick up significantly for him to sniff the top 10 lists in points (Luther Burden is 10th at 433) or average (Joe Wiley is 10th at 14.1). He needs 212 rebounds to tie Jim McLaughlin in 10th, and he's probably just shy of that mark currently, with 61. He's probably not going to get up to 7.9 RPG (Willie Reed, Dwayne Evans), currently at 6.1. He needs 37 steals to make that top 10 list, and at 19 currently, that's his easiest one to hit this season. He also has a chance to hit the assists list; he has 28 and needs 97 (Charles Newberry). His percentages are not currently in play.

-Hasahn French is not blocking shots at the pace he did last season, but will have no trouble moving way up on the sophomore list. He has 14 and needs 19 to tie Matt Baniak and Tommie Liddell. Willie Reed is first at 73 and Melvin Robinson is second at 66, so he will probably not catch them, but the third-place mark is a big step down at 28 (Brian Smith) and he's a lock for that. At 7.3 RPG, he's short of Reed and Evans at 7.9, but he should make the total rebounds list (has 73, needs 212). He's also just outside the FG% list, sitting at .477 and needing .481 (Joe Wiley).

-Carte'Are Gordon is going to be short of the total points (321) and average (11.0) thresholds to make the top 10 for freshmen, and he's also short on the rebounding numbers (158, 5.6). However, he's about to bump Rob Loe from 10th place (20; CG has 19) and has a shot at steals (Anthony Bonner is in 10th with 32 and he has 10). His current FG% of .547 would put him 6th all-time for freshmen.

-Fred Thatch is said to have only 5 blocks and 6 steals at this point, and that seems short in both categories to me. Still, he has a shot to make the blocks list.

-Ingvi, K.C. Hankton, and Demarius Jacobs are not on pace for any freshman records at this time.

Added the category Gordon is 11th, about to hit 10th.

Foreman is 17 FGM short of qualifying for Career FG%.  His current 57.1% would put him 3rd, but he is fading fast when you add this season's numbers.

Updated through the full non-conference slate (13 games) as we enter A10 play (18+ games remaining):

-Javon Bess keeps inching closer to the total points for a senior season list. He needs 516 (Lewis McKinney) for 10th, so we'd need to play 34 games if he stays at his average of 15.5. So it's not out of the question if he continues to increase his scoring pace or if we go deep in the A10 Tournament and play in a postseason tournament. He'll make the 3-pointers made list if he continues his current pace. Davell Roby and Roland Gray are tied for 9th at 56, and Bess has 26 through 13 games, which would put him in the 60s for a full season. His rebounding average (7.4) is short of the 8.0 mark needed for the top 10, but he has a chance to hit 234 (Gray) for the total rebounds list (he's got 96 currently). He's at 22 steals and needs 49 to tie Chris Sloan, Justin Love, and Darryl Leonard, so he'll be in the mix for that. Also, it's surprising anyone on this team would have a shot at a FT% list, but his current rate of .817 has him in the hunt; he needs to reach .829 for 10th. He's not out of the running for the 10th-place 3FG% threshold of .401, either, currently at .366.

-D.J. Foreman owns the junior class FG% record at .626, well above the second place mark of .574 (Tom Frericks), and that category is going to be a reach for him in senior class books unless something changes. He's currently at .443, well short of the .554 he needs to crack the list, but maybe he'll pick it up as the season goes on.

-Tramaine Isabell has slowed down on his early season steals pace, currently sitting at 17 and needing 49 to make the senior top 10 list. His point average (11.9) makes the scoring figures a little tougher than they are for Bess, but we also know that he's still finding his groove and capable of putting up big numbers. So he's a long shot but we'll see. He's got an outside shot at assists (has 32, needs 102) if he picks up the pace there.

-Dion Wiley isn't going to hit any marks at this pace, and his injured status is only going to set him back further. His best chance is 3P% but he needs to pick it up there. Currently at .333, and he's chasing .401 to crack the top 10 list (he also needs 50 attempts and has 24).

-Jack Raboin would finish first in the junior class records for both FG percentage and 3-point FG percentage if he continues his current pace (a perfect 1.000 for each on 2-2 FG and 1-1 3FG) and gets to 100 FG attempts and 50 3-point FG attempts. #letjackshootmore

-Jordan Goodwin's scoring would have to pick up significantly for him to sniff the sophomore season top 10 lists in points (Luther Burden is 10th at 433) or average (Joe Wiley is 10th at 14.1). He needs 212 rebounds to tie Jim McLaughlin in 10th, and he's going to be short of that at his current pace, with 79. He's probably not going to get up to 7.9 RPG (Willie Reed, Dwayne Evans), currently at 6.1. He needs 37 steals to make that top 10 list, and at 30 currently, that looks like a lock. He also has a chance to hit the assists list; he has 40 and needs 97 (Charles Newberry). His percentages are not currently in play.

-Hasahn French is not blocking shots at the pace he did last season, but will have no trouble moving way up on the sophomore list. He has 18 and needs 19 to tie Matt Baniak and Tommie Liddell. Willie Reed is first at 73 and Melvin Robinson is second at 66, so he will probably not catch them, but the third-place mark is a big step down at 28 (Brian Smith) and he's a lock for that. At 7.6 RPG, he's short of Reed and Evans at 7.9 but has picked up his average lately, and he should make the total rebounds list (has 99, needs 212).

-Carte'Are Gordon is going to be short of the total points (321) and average (11.0) thresholds to make the top 10 for freshmen, and he's also short on the rebounding numbers (158, 5.6). However, he's already 9th on the season blocks list with 23, bumping Evans to 10th and Loe off the list, and has a shot at steals (Anthony Bonner is in 10th with 32 and he has 14). The 8th-place mark for blocks is 31 (Darryl Anderson), so he's a few games away from that, but then there's a 4-way logjam at 32 blocks eating up the 4th-7th place positions (Matt Baniak, Cory Remekun, Jon Smith, Elliott Welmer), so he should have 4th place to himself in a few weeks. His current FG% of .542 would put him 6th all-time for freshmen.

-Fred Thatch is said to have only 6 blocks and 9 steals at this point, and that seems short in both categories to me. Still, he has a shot to make both lists if he could get to 22 blocks or 32 steals.

-Ingvi Gudmundsson, K.C. Hankton, Demarius Jacobs, and Brandon Courtney are not on pace for any freshman records at this time.

Bess currently ranks #1 in career minutes per game at 36.0.  Liddell is second at 34.4 mpg.  Yes, 2 and 3 year alum are on this list, giving them an advantage of not having a presumably low freshman year mpg added in.  Bess is currently #10 on season mpg.  This slot will fluctuate game by game.  Bess is 13th on the Career FT% at 77.1%, and could easily make top ten before he is done. (John Kilo is 10th at 79.9%.)

Foreman needs 11 more FGM to qualify for Career FG%.  (125 FG made puts you on the list.)  He would be 3rd on the list if he qualified today, but his % is falling this season.

-Tramaine Isabell has slowed down on his early season steals pace, currently sitting at 17 and needing 49 to make the senior top 10 list.

French is 11th in career blocks, 5 behind Tatum.

Home attendance has averaged 6785, which is only the 7th (year end) highest average at Chaifetz. Top season average is 8428 in 13-14.

The attendance is hard for me to figure out why our team cannot at least get 9500 a game?

When Charlie Spoonhour was our coach more than 10000 showed up.  Was the difference a better conference, Great Midwest my favorite or Conference USA.  The players or coach Spoon or a combination of all these things that brought the fans in.

I agree but attendance seems to be down everywhere. Look at the Missouri games. Nobody there.

Spoon's 94-95 team was the Highmark (literally and figuratively) at 17,714 at Kiel.

I agree what you are saying about attendance overall in College Basketball however Missouri’s issues are a little different because of the political situation that hurt their enrollment and their football attendance.

I miss the old Spoon days with a full arena it was so loud and fun it was big time college basketball in a big time conference with big time stars like Duane Wade playing against us.

I guess the answer is probably conference and if we can somehow get in the big east then the attendance for games will increase.
