It doesn’t matter if Butler is in the top 50. They are using the quadrant system now and since we played Butler at home, they would need to be top 30 to be a quad 1 win. If they finish between 31-75, it’s a quad 2 win which was probably always the most likely outcome for that game.

Since no A10 team will be top 30, we need VCU and Dayton to be top 75 in order for those road games to be additional quad 1 opportunities. If we finish with a borderline NET and only one quad 1 win (@SH), I’m sure we’ll get left out.

It's all important.  NCAA puts together a Team Sheet on each team. It includes NET and Quad breakdowns.

Starting with the 2017-18 season, the team sheets took on a new look. They now not only include each team’s NET, but also include a team’s ranking in five other metrics: the ESPN strength of record and BPI rankings, as well as the KPI, KenPom and Sagarin rankings. In addition, a team’s schedule and results are now broken down in four quadrants that place greater emphasis on games played on neutral courts and in true road environments. The quadrant breakdown is as follows:

  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30; Neutral 1-50; Away 1-75.
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75; Neutral 51-100; Away 76-135.
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160; Neutral 101-200; Away 136-240.
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-plus; Neutral 201-plus; Away 241-plus.

SLU's current Team Sheet, as of Jan 13, is on page 60 of this attachment. https://extra.ncaa.org/solutions/rpi/Stats Library/NET Team Sheets - Games through January 13, 2019.pdf

Our average NET win is 203, and our average NET loss is 60

Exciting because F duke, but terrible because this is the sort of BS that gets Syracuse in the Dance over a mid major with better numbers in everything else. And it’s always Cuse

Honestly, both teams are pretty bad, you have a DUKE squad that is not the average Duke team at shooting the perimeter. Then, you've Syracuse which this will help their cause for the dance, which honestly is terrible. Why does the NCAA favor big conference over the small tiny bubble teams, it always gets me. RJ Barrett shot 4-17, that's worse than the whole slu team combined total.  Go slu kick Duke's perimeter shooters, and duke suffers in the polls and let FSU gain some ground.

So right. You can bet this W gets big time coverage on Selection Sunday.
