Taj79
This ESPN+ is great so far. Crystal clear picture. Watching Siena and Geedubya in Foggy Bottom. Geedubya favored but Siena leading by three with under nine to play.
BillsBeliever!!!
Siena wins. Not a great look for the A10 so far. Winning the conference could be easier than we thought.
Taj79
Geedubya drops its second straight at home to open the season, losing 69 to 61 to Siena. Seina never trailed tghe entire second half after openign up a seven point halftime lead. Geedubya did go on a 10 - 0 run to tie it at 55 but faded down the stretch. Geedubya now goes to #5 Virginia on Sunday. That won't be pretty. As far as scouting, its early but Geedubya is badly outmanned. Justin Mazzula and Terry Nolan make for a decent backcourt but both appear to be more 2 guards than a point. Arnaldo Toro is still the big man in the middle but limited. Mazzula apparently will be a good one to hate as time goes on ..... his emotional makeup as well as his makeup is that of an Odell Beckham Jr. clone ---- curly blonde string rolls and a motor mouth. He's a decent slasher and made some treys but limited as well. Nolan is a shooter and can't be left alone. Either could go off given the right spacing. Mazzula had his career high with 18, Nolan with 17 and Toro with 9. The bench contributed 5 total points. Highly regarded former Illini recruit DJ Williams started and contributed 8 but he appeared quite off. Wasn't impressed. Siena went off for 16 ofdfesnive rebounds despite being the smaller of the teams. They launched 34 treys on the night and only 29 two point attempts. They made 13 treys and Geedubya didn't have much of an answer. Nolan and Muzzula went 6-of-10 from three but the lack of production otherwise was sorely evident. After Virginia, Geedubya plays Michigan the neither South Carolina or Providence. It looks like an o-for-5 start for the alma mater of one wel-known Billikenboard resident and SLU professor. Taj79
Not so fast Mr.Believer. Geedubya was a double-digit seed and finisher to start the season. They should beat these two team at home in a normal year but they are far from normal. To extrapolate them for the whole conference would be shortsighted.. On the flip side, Dayton looked better than predicted last night missing Josh Cunningham and playing and experienced North Florida team. Glorydays2013
Another good thing about ESPN + is you can rewatch all the games on there, including SLU NextYearBill likes this
Compton
Probably not necessary to create a new "Around the A10" thread for every new day.

Compton
It allows for more ongoing dialogue and commentary about what's going on in the A10 than resetting the conversation every 24 hours.

And don't knock Taj Mahal 79's A10 daily updates. He's very knowledgeable about the conference. Knows nothing about good scotch, but as for the A10- he's our Wiz. The daily updates could still come in a single thread, like "Tracking A-10 non-conference performance, 2018." Compton does raise a good point. Either way is fine with me, but I think it's fair to consider both sides.

Taj79
Not a point to wage war over ------ I'll likely do a new thread on tonight's six-game schedule and then just keep it all in there from now on.
