2010andBeyond
Our NET ranking rose 15 spots to #60 after yesterday’s game. It pains me to think of what our numbers would be if we had held on. Oh well. On to FSU, who checks in at #33. I still be believe if we win that game we will be in decent shape for an at-large.

With Billiken wins over Seton Hall, Butler, and Oregon State, how do you arrive at that 2-4 figure?

Yep. The poor A10 this year makes this FSU game so big. After that game, We will be lucky to play 2 more Quadrant 1 games the rest of the year (at VCU, at UD if they are top 75). SIU not a bad loss, should be quadrant 2 at worst. The killers were the giveaways against Pitt and Houston Littlebill likes this

Throwing this out there for a refresher. Today Seton Hall is 83rd. So that would not be a Quad 1 win, unless they move up.
Cowboy
-another step to avoiding having our tourney chances being dependent on 3 days in Brooklyn is not to lay an egg against the lesser opponents we will play, the playing to our competition theory
philliken
Updated 12/31/2018: Notes: No A-10 team receiving votes (kinda duh). Florida St back in the Top 10 (9). Houston checks in at 22. Seton Hall getting five votes after their controversial win. That win was great for SH, and for us; but you gotta feel bad for St Johns. They were 12-0. billiken_roy
surprisingly, slu's NET ranking has come close to top 50 which i believe, 50 is the actual at large bubble mark. https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings will our atrocious conference allow that to continue to rise as needed? we shall see. but must say i was encouraged today to see this. That is indeed encouraging. It's a shame we only play VCU once this year at their place as we need all the opportunities for top wins as possible. The bright side to the poor A10 is that it makes for a whole lot of winnable games. Need to go 15-3 or 16-2 but if we do that the NET will be right where it needs to be. Also need Butler and Seton Hall to do well in the Big East. The eye test will definitely require a couple big wins and those are all we've got, except for maybe the road game at VCU. billiken_roy likes this

Cowboy
-looking at the NCAA NET rankings I noticed a couple of things, in the top 101 teams there are 5 that have not played a road game (Duke, Tex Tech, Texas, UConn and WVA) while #24 Buffalo is 5-1 -also, from what I saw there is no number other than the ranking, so how to know the gap this ranking is saying between teams? Duke is #1 but how far behind is #2 Michigan? or #58 SLU? as has been mentioned, NET is seems like just another way to screw the non Power Conf teams
Franchise_08
A team not playing a true road game is garbage. Another reason to hate Duke along with ESPNs insatiable love and Coach K’s face.
almaman
A-10 played 35 ish out of 135 ish games away in OOC. it is BS as is so much college sports scheduling. I'd rather have teams play only at their weight. Who cares if we kick Morehead St at home. And lose as we know ultimate embarrassment. If is was that way 20-10 would be great record it you played only half your games at home and all you played was top 50 teams.

JettFlight5
The worst part about Pitt was the missed opportunity. I just hope they don't finish at the bottom of the ACC....but beating Louisville helps. SIUC was a disaster, but it happened.
