His feet are active on D also. At this point he's got an Elliot Welmer-type offensive game with better hops and better shotblocking instincts on the defensive end. I really like his potential at the mid-major level. Not many guys with that combination of length, shot blocking and perimeter shooting. Interest: Butler, DePaul, Clemson, Illinois, Oklahoma, Florida, Missouri, Central Florida, Tulsa, East Carolina, Colorado State, Boise State, Cornell, Loyola-Chicago, Northern Iowa, Indiana State, Valparaiso, Bradley, Belmont, Murray State, Morehead State, Southeast Missouri, North Texas, Ohio, Cleveland State, Miami-Ohio, Wright State, Toledo, Illinois-Chicago, Northern Illinois, IUPUI, Wofford, Chattanooga, Lafayette, Iona, Appalachian State, Louisiana-Monroe, South Dakota State, North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota, NJIT, Montana State, Mount St. Mary's, Liberty. Latest News: Benson received offers from SLU, SIUC, Milwaukee, EIU, Illinois State, Missouri State, and WIU. (6/23/21) Scouting Report: Benson is a tough forward who rebounds hard at both ends. He's got good hands and touch in addition to nice footwork. He runs the floor well and has long reach for his height. He can step out and shoot it in the mid-range and from the perimeter. He finishes strong through contact and is tough to stop when he's going toward the rim, with or without the ball. -Benson's offer list just exploded. He's raw but has some athleticism and plays really hard. While we're on the subject of downstate Illinois, Zach Cleveland committed to Liberty. Had SLU interest but no offer. slufanskip likes this
Pistol
Connor Turnbull - C, 6-10, 195 - O'Fallon, MO (Fort Zumwalt North) - AAU: Brad Beal Elite (Nike EYBL) - Twitter: @ConnorT2022 Offers: Saint Louis, Butler, Kansas State, Missouri, Indiana State. Latest News: Turnbull received offers from SLU and K-State. (6/23/21) Scouting Report: Turnbull is a skilled big man who runs the floor and blocks everything close to him. He's a crafty finisher on the offensive end and solid rebounder at both ends. He passes well, knows how to move without the ball, and can step out and shoot the three. He's a fierce competitor. -Like a lot of our other recent offers, he's blown up lately. Butler offered first, then Mizzou, then the SLU, Indiana State, and then K-State. Just a solid big man who does everything well, but shot blocking is probably his best individual skill. Excellent all-around defender, too. Locals should have plenty of chances to see him this season. SLURadioBoy and slufanskip like this

Latest News: Saunders received offers from Lehigh and UC-Davis. He has received a dozen offers in the past week. (6/24/21) Scouting Report: Saunders is a tough, versatile forward with an inside-out game. He can shoot from the perimeter and is a smart, effective post player. He runs the floor and plays well in transition. He finishes strong and doesn't fear contact. He handles the ball well for his size. He moves well on defense and shows good footwork on both ends. He plays really hard. -Almost all of his offers came in the past week. Good to get in while he's on the rise but I also wonder about getting lost in the shuffle. This kid has a hard-nosed game that would fit well at SLU. slufanskip likes this
Pistol
Nick Kramer - SG, 6-4, 200 - St. Louis, MO (SLUH) - AAU: Brad Beal Elite (Nike EYBL) - Twitter: @Nick_kramer03 Offers: Saint Louis, Southeast Missouri, UAB, Alabama A&M. Interest: Dayton, Creighton, Illinois, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Ole Miss, Utah, Central Florida, Tulsa, Boise State, Princeton, Cornell, Loyola-Chicago, Drake, SIU-Carbondale, Missouri State, Indiana State, Bradley, Evansville, Belmont, SIU-Edwardsville, Eastern Illinois, Tennessee-Martin, Rice, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Marshall, Milwaukee, IUPUI, East Tennessee State, Furman, VMI, Louisiana-Monroe, South Alabama, North Dakota State, Stetson, Liberty. Latest News: Kramer received an offer from SLU. (6/24/21) Scouting Report: Kramer is a shooting guard with range and good size. He's equally effective off the pull-up as he is off the catch, and doesn't need a lot of room or time to pull the trigger. He's got a strong frame and defenders have to respect his ability to get to the basket, as well. He moves well without the ball. He's a tough, versatile defender who can guard multiple positions. His dad, Jack, played at UAB after starring at Quincy (IL) HS and transferring from Michigan. His brother, John, is heading off to play baseball at Ole Miss. -Kramer's made a lot of progress and has looked great in events for BBE this spring, as well as that recent MO HS showcase. His dad is a 1991 graduate of UAB, where he faced SLU his senior year, the last season before both teams were in the GMC (UAB won 98-80). UAB is coached by his former teammate Andy Kennedy and has offered the younger Kramer. Safe to say the Kramers will be in the house for the UAB game this December. slufanskip and SLURadioBoy like this

3star_recruit
With all this focus on the deep local 2022 class as well as attempting to expand our recruiting radius, I can see why we effectively shut down recruiting for 2021. SLURadioBoy
Here’s an interview with Turnbull from someone named Leader Johnson that was posted on Facebook. Turnbull doesn’t list SLU among the three schools he’s in contact with the most (Butler, Mizzou and Kansas State), but he is taking an unofficial to SLU on Monday. https://www.facebook.com/366158987051067/posts/my-exclusive1on1-with-talented-2022-missouri-prospect-connor-turnbullconnor-turn/1473493829650905/

So, will be interesting how many scholarships SLU has to fill this year. Three for sure, but maybe five? If Linnsen is going for an MBA or Masters he ought to finish this year. I can see him leaving after the season if he wants to try going pro in Europe. Williams has what, one or two years of eligibility? This extra covid year really throws who is staying or leaving up in the air. I see a big and a point guard as must positions to get commits in 2022. Then either Hughes or Thames as the third. So if Kramer commits, that makes four. His committing tells me there are likely at least four spots minimum available. Would be curious how others see this year's recruiting landscape for the Bills.
