Another kid to add to the list of D-1 caliber guards in the 2022 class is SLUH's 6'4 shooting star Nick Kramer.  He's gotten into great shape and is a factor on the boards now in addition to scoring.  Doesn't have much help this year so he will have to play through a lot of Ls.

You seem to know the local high school scene really well, @3star_recruit. Who do you think are the top five local players in the 2022 class?

BBE player from Arkansas who had a SLU offer:

No surprises except Oral Roberts as his wild card. Not sure if there's a connection to the school or if he's just rewarding them for being on him early and never letting up even as his stock rose to top-50ish territory.

Which one? The one scoring the most, or the bigger-bodied kid later in the clip? The star is #22, Brandon Miller. #25 is Tyson Ford from Burroughs. There are also some clips of #21, Alpha Chibambe from STL Christian. They're all about 6-5 to 6-6 now, but all with different body types.

Chibambe is now playing for a prep team out in Vegas and is about ready to blow up.  He really put the clamps on Emoni Bates defensively this weekend and had some highlight reel finishes.

Braxton Stacker - SG, 6-5, 180 - Belleville, IL (Cardinal Ritter, MO) - AAU: Brad Beal Elite (Nike EYBL) - Twitter: @BraxtonStacker
Offers: None.

Interest: Saint Louis, VCU, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Temple, Tulsa, East Carolina, Utah State, Colorado State, Boise State, Cornell, Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, Austin Peay, SIU-Carbondale, Illinois State, Rice, Miami-Ohio, Toledo, Illinois-Chicago, Appalachian State, South Dakota State, North Dakota, Elon, UC-Irvine, Texas Southern.

Latest News: Stacker said SLU, Mizzou, Virginia Tech, Colorado State, and Tulsa are currently showing the most interest. (1/11/21)

Scouting Report: Stacker is a long, athletic guard who can score on all three levels. He's versatile on both ends of the court, with the ability to run the point and guard three positions. He's a strong slasher and finisher with an explosive first step. He's a high-level competitor with good instincts. He transferred from Belleville East to Cardinal Ritter before his junior year.

This isn't a ranking or anything else, just the top scorers as listed in the PD.  I believe the schools need to send in the results.  It doesn't look like any Vashon players are on the list.  That doesn't mean they don't belong on the list, just no one has sent in the scores.  I stopped at 30 names. As someone who checks in with those STLToday HS stats pretty regularly for recruiting tracking, I can tell you that Vashon is way worse than most schools about sending in stats. They don't send them in for a lot of their games, and some of the numbers are questionable or incomplete - in Littlebill's link, you can see that FG are included but not FGA, for example, and they've only submitted two games despite having played five.

There are schools that are worse about sending in numbers but they're mostly irrelevant. A few other key programs, like St. Louis Christian Academy, are also bad about it (although STLCA plays in the Grind Session and isn't really worried about numbers showing up in the local paper).

I believe that at one point our own Dr. Paul Eckerle topped the StLToday / PD scoring rankings.  Paul was a nice role player / roster filler early on in Majerus years.  The story about him guarding Derrick Rose in the closed door scrimmage and Majerus getting mad at Paul for continuously getting beat until an assistant coach told him that was Rose is hilarious.  No one would call Paul a 5 star prospect.  Even if they were 100% accurate, you should not use them to judge whether or not guys are legit prospects.

Yeah, guys that I played with/against 10+ years ago would always top these lists - but since small schools are included, these guys only went to SEMO, Nebraska-Omaha, etc

I was a little worried about Hughes after CBC's first two games because he had a total of 6 points between them. He's scored 20, 20, and now 25 in the past three, though.

Martin has been very good in all five games. He's leading CBC in scoring at 17.4 PPG, with 4.0 APG and 1.6 SPG. He's the leader of a 5-0 team with wins over SLUH, Ritter, St. Mary's, Confluence, and STLCA.

CBC plays Chaminade tomorrow.

Where was Jordan Toolbit? Is this not his team? Does SLCA have multiple teams? Is he injured?

This was his team, yes. He didn't play. Not sure why. Doesn't look like he's played in about four weeks but I can't find word of an injury or illness.
