Larry Hughes II had 16 points and played well on the wing in CBC’s 73-72 OT loss to Morgan Park (Chicago) at the Chicago Elite Classic at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. (Caleb Love 26) Morgan Park a top 3-5 Chicago area team this year has Illinois Commit Adam Miller (21) and Brandon Weston (26). Hughes is getting a lot of good experience early in the season against some national competition.

I saw Robert Martin score 9 with 3 assists last year, at the Highland Shootout, against Rock Bridge. He was up there with the best freshman guard play I have ever seen. Here is the schedule for this year's shootout:

He might as well just go ahead and commit to the good guys! I would love a class the included two local guys in Hughes and Tarris Reed.

I will Be unreasonably upset if LHJ isn’t a Billiken. He could be the worst basketball player ever and i still want him to be a Billiken.

I haven't seen any stats, but sounds like Larry Jr. had a nice performance last night.

Hughes had a team high 20 points, 7 for 10 from the field. Love had 16.

Vashon plays tonight and tomorrow in the event in Memphis. Lots of good teams.

Also:  Next weekend's Highland Shootout will feature many top local teams in the all day Saturday event as well. I know they sold out of day passes...would have to check availability.

So is LHJ a legit recruit?  I mean other than his personal ties..

imo yes.

i think if we cant sign the biggest name billiken in the last 50+ years son, who sits in the 7th row of billiken games, that's a problem.

I hope.  Just wasnt sure if the hype was unfortunately just named-based or if he was actually a good player.

An awful lot of players do not want to play in their fathers footsteps.

i get the impression watching body language and visitors that isnt the case currently.  (they sit 10 seats from me)  that said, you can bet the better he gets the more the big boys will try to tell him that he doesnt want to follow in larry's footsteps.
