Well that assumes that all teams are pretty much equal....which of course isn't the case. There is very little chance that Alabama A & M (# 351) will beat Villanova ( #1)....Nova by 48. As for the 500-1 odds ( My source says 550 ) , I would be pretty pleased with that at this point. That would place us at 83rd on the overall ranking and in the top fourth of all D1 teams...with a possible grade of B and an NIT possibility. Now this is far different than what I will be doing the week of Nov 5 when I do projections for 2018-19 but it is interesting nonetheless, as I believe the odds makers know something about college basketball....and they seem to like us a little. So most fans think 500-1 is a long shot...it depends on your perspective. Here are some odds that were released before the 2018 NCAA tourney but after the tourney teams were seeded. This is different than preseason odds....these are pre tourney odds. Also you will not see these odds anywhere else....so don't plan on walking into the MGM Sorts Book and find anything close. These are not betting odds but real odds....The actual bets made...ie if there are 10 million bets and only 1 of them is for NC Central....then that explains how NC Central was a 10 million to 1 loser. ....with LIU Brooklyn at 9,999,999-1. ...both 16 seeds Here are some other interesting odds....remember these are all tourney teams 15th seed ....Cal St Fullerton.....7 million - 1 14th seed...Wright St 4 1/2 million - 1 13th seed ....UNC-Greensboro....1 million-1 12th seed .....Davidson....75000 to 1....Murray St....500,000 -1 11th seed....Bonnies....12000 to 1....Loyola Moser...300,000-1 10th seed......Butler....75000-1 9th seed......Alabama....200-1.....K State 65000-1 8th seed....Mizzou ...50-1....Va Tech ....15000-1.....Creighton.....70000 7th seed.....RI....47500-1.....Tex A & M 150-1...... 6th seed.....TCU....45000 -1....Fla....85-1 5th seed..... KY....30-1....Oh St 125-1 4th seed.....Gonzaga.....15-1......Auburn.....999-1 3rd seed.....Mich St.....9-1......Tenn....48-1 2nd seed....Duke 8-1....Cinn....45-1 1 seed........
