Local TV gets more viewership from the older crowd, who are more likely to follow SLU, and the PD gets more clicks from younger Mizzery affiliated folks.

SLU just doesn't have a large enough swath of younger fans in the region to garner much attention from the local paper, which at this point can only support itself with online readership and clicks.

13 players have signed to play summer ball including the famous Cape Cod league http://www.slubillikens.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=27200&ATCLID=211718577

2 players are playing in the Cape Cod League.   13 players are playing in summer leagues around the country.  Two are playing in the NECBL which I usually go to at least one game--I will try to make it to the Vermont Mountaineers v. Nighthawks game or maybe to a Mountaineers home game.

Norwood had been dominant at AA this year in relief. He only pitched a handful of games at AAA.

The Cubs had to add him to the 40 man roster to bring him up. He has a chance to stick around if he can pitch well. The Cubs have a few spots at the back end of the bullpen that have been a constantly rotating AAA shuttle position. Plus the Cubs tend to carry 13 pitchers so there is always an extra spot.

To get a Billiken baseball player to the bigs is huge for the program and the university!  I hope the administration wakes up soon and starts investing in baseball or this type of exciting stuff may be short lived.

The Cubs used 7 pitchers yesterday so hopefully he will see some action Tuesday night.

Speaking of Billikens and MLB, Max Muncy's brother Derek played for SLU from 2000-2003.  Max played at Baylor and is having a great first half for the Dodgers.  Go out and vote for him for the final All-Star vote.

Norwood just pitched a scoreless inning for the Cubs.  We're back in the big leagues, baby!

He took the L after giving up a hit, walk, and hit after 1 2/3. Pitched really well though other than that.

Correct. Wasn’t sure if you were referring to Ream or Reed in your original post so I took a guess.

The Thunder and Wizards are looking at Big Willie too. If he can make it back to the league soon, that would make three.

Reed has gotten several invites to workouts but with his suspension still looming over him word is he may be done in the NBA.
