I don't know if this has ever been posted, but here's a scouting report for Jacobs...

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report:  Jacobs is a rare find among guard prospects, as he is very talented, ultra-athletic and plays much bigger than his size suggests, as a result of his lengthy body.  He is a solid addition for any college program that lands him as a result of the level of confidence that he plays with, and the ability he has to play the game at a high level.  He is a versatile guard prospect that can play both guard positions on the floor, and is steady.  He has a good shooting stroke with range on his shot, and also has a good mid-range game that allows him to makes plays off the dribble.  He is an active rebounder and plays bigger than his size suggests.  He is also a very good defender that plays passing lanes.  A good overall guard prospect.

Love the dunks, but what impresses me is his body control on the ones that he isn't able to dunk. He's keeping the ball out of danger and laying in some really difficult finishes. He won't always be able to throw it down at the college level so those crafty finishes will come in handy.

Holy $h!^!!!  More athletic than anyone on the team last year.  He could answer a lot of our wants/needs.  FT %/ballhandling/ shooting the 3.

Jesus H. They may have to replace the rims at Chaifetz after a couple years. Seems a little raw in the half court but that will improve. This kid seems awesome

3 favorite highlights:

:12.... Between the legs dunk

:50....Windmill dunk

:53....Head almost hits backboard on the block

Sky walking ballet...good all-around player to have on the roster, especially for those times when J-Good is on the bench.

Check out the dunk at the end of this one.

Is Jacobs gonna start the 2 guard position opposite Goodwin?

Man he looks good

Yes, he looks superb; it's hard to understand why he isn't rated more highly.  But highlight reels tend to do that.  I always prefer to see full games — but who has time to do that?! — for more accurate analysis.  Perhaps his defense is a weakness.

If he's coachable and has a good attitude, by the time his career at SLU is over, he could be one of the Billikens' all-time greats, but let's not assume he'll start as a freshman.  Maybe, though.  We have to see what happens when the rubber meets the hardwood.

The more I see of Jacobs, the more I like...

He’s candid in this piece about his strengths and weaknesses ... this is from June 2017, before summer AAU and prep school.

Watch the video from Uplift High in Chicago and look at the lower left corner of the screen, which IDs the player being highlighted.

Two observations:

1. Someone on this board talked about Jacobs’ body control...multiple instances here, the best of which is off the steal in the middle of the tape. He may be raw but the guy knows how to finish and gives SLU added dimension in transition offense.

2. Love his double block on D...going to be a Block Party with Jacobs and French on the floor together.
