Let's hope it's actually something good. My guess would just be a token column criticizing SLU for not answering questions but where the author gives SLU an out by saying it's a sensitive situation

Fred pestello's tweet about his big week ahead has one like.... Ross Chaifetz. I would love for this to be some epic troll job, but I tomorrow's story will be more about pestello and fundraising.

Do we have a definitive, closing statement from SLU on our players?  Has the University actually announced anything?  Henriquez signed with an agent and is going pro.  He said that.  Graves tweeted he is off to NC Central.  He said that.  Goodwin we know about and that was a suspension of the Student Code of Conduct.  But did the school actually say that?  I'd say no because Jordan and family took to the airwaves to clarify things.  And what of the fate of Bishop?  All are no longer listed on the men's basketball roster so we know something happened but what has been said officially?  Anyone know?

The results are in so the case is obviously closed but where is an official announcement?  Have I missed it?  Rosenblum said three suspensions and one expulsion but that seems not to be correct.  And concerning Graves, he announced his destination and the Raleigh News & Observer said he is going to have "three years of eligibility and is on the roster."  NCAA rules require a one-year sit out when transferring and Graves was obviously in school at SLU.  Does he sit again?  The one-year rule is to essentially get the kid up to speed at his new school.  So what is up with that?

The school has screwed this pooch from the get go.  Claims of rape and/or sexual assault.  The investigation.  The investigation exceedingly long even with all parties in town.  A biased social justice warrior placed in the role of the unbiased hearing officer seat.  Guys not allowed in the gym based on some proximity to the victim clause.  Moving them off campus.  Moving them on campus.  Then off again.  Escorted rides (is this true?) in campus security cars to classes.  Travel with team but no play.  Claims of confidentiality and privacy.  Inattention from the school president.  And now, nothing but silence.

I may not know ineptness when I see it but this smacks of a very real lesson on "how not to."  It is what it is, it has all happened and there are multiple missteps along the way starting with the players basically putting this on themselves for bad choices.  But if this is the 'gold standard' I prefer mud.

Crazy if AD with his desire to make big $$ playing the game he loves, doesn't quite have enough to do the NBA but instead retires on the $$ made suing the rosaries off SLU for this travesty.

The key would be proving to a court he has big money NBA potential, but this judgement by SLU has derailed his career and cost him that.

I would like to think that one of the columnists sees an opportunity here. This has the potential to be a national story.  If Fredrickson or Durando dig deep and find out what we believe happened are the actual facts, this story will blow up. This could possibly be a career story.

Make it happen BenFred.

If there has not been a public announcement of the action taken by the School in this case by now, the probability the school will make a public announcement is nil.

And SLU is responsible for "ruining" their lives  So I guess SLU will get away with another one as this situation seems to be blowing over until the next time.. When is somebody going to take a stand. Does Rosenblum have anything planned.

So let me get this straight.

SLU told the players to participate in an orgy?

SLU told players to film said event?

SLU told players it was a good idea to post the filming of this orgy online?

I find that hard to believe.

Help me understand how SLU ruined the players lives again?

a historic day......an historic occasion......

It's technically acceptable, but I hate it.  Mostly because I do not speak with a Cockney accent ("Ello, govnah!").

I write for a living and would never use "an."  AP and Chicago style both prefer "a," if I'm not mistaken.

This is going back to college and my father was and English teacher so I hope I have this right.  I thought the a/an thing was based on the noun.   You wouldn't say "a occasion"  or  "an day."  Again this is pretty murky recollection on my part.....

The girls will likely not be punished ...... this is due to the fact that if punished, this would have a detrimental effect on people coming forward with real cases. But in my opinion, this case sets back the movement some.  Rape and sexual assault are not good by any means but again, that did not happen here.  What seems to have happen is one young lady having regrets and getting pissed about pictures.

Because you asked, I'll interrupt this news broadcast for an aside.

In some other languages, such as Spanish, the article (like "the" and "a" — "el" or "la," "un" or "una" in Spanish) and adjectives change form to fit the gender and number of the noun they're modifying.  But it doesn't work that way in English, which is one of the most irregular and difficult languages.  The indefinite article ("a" or "an") changes to suit the sound of the word immediately following it, whether that's an adjective or noun.  If the next word starts with a vowel sound, then "an" is used.  Otherwise, it's "a."  Some words that begin with the vowel u actually begin with the consonant sound y: yoo-.  A United States official.  But We have reached an understanding.

I believe the use of "an" with "historic" goes back to a time when, in formal speech, the "h" in "historic" was silent.  But it's not silent anymore, so it's just awkward to use "an."

Didn't think I'd be writing any dictionary entries today.  Now I return you back to the tired story.

Eh. This isn’t setting anything back since, as it stands now, the only people that believe an injustice has occurred are within the locker room, or posting on this message board. Unless some civil suits or the Post-Dispatch kicks up, this will all blow over just as the U. wants. Maybe Freddy knows what he’s doing after all 😑

Nor would I say, “my father was and English teacher”...
