Fall 2017 allegations against unnamed players (aka Situation 2)

In the context of Mizzou now suspended one of their players with a Title IX investigation, I am still unable to understand how SLU held out 3 players all year and let a fourth player (presumably under investigation) still play.  I don't get it.

It is a complicated answer but had you been following this whole situation you would have gleaned enough info to know the answer 73Billiken.

Yes. The answer is no one knows for sure, but you can choose from the following:

It was up to the players and the other three decided to hold out on until it's over because of the uncertainty and to preserve as much eligibility as possible in case of a bad result assuming it would all be decided by the end of the first semester.

The one playing had a different lawyer who told him it was ok to play because there was so little evidence of wrong doing against him they were confident of a favorable outcome.

The school made the other three sit out, but let one play because there wasn't much evidence he did anything wrong.

The one playing didn't have sex with the cheerleader so he was allowed to play. The other three had sex with the cheerleader so they couldn't be present at the games because the cheerleader would be there.

Or make up your own reason.

Seeing the smoke around that one, it looks like that kid should start looking for a new home because it looks like just a matter of time. Interesting kid, really came across well and like a kid who would be successful beyond basketball (really involved at the school and in the SEC), but clearly has some issues. Assuming some of the rumors are true, I don’t think anyone will be upset if his days at Mizzou are numbered.

Maybe the girls react differently if the boys are white but I sincerely doubt that the title ix social justice warriors would cut any slack if was the SLU diving team on tape rather than the basketball team. These people don't see color.  They see penises.   They hate penises and everything connected to them.

According to Uncle Tony, Freddy P is a penis........ so ....

Both situations at SLU involved black males and white females. In both cases Weathers was the big player in the punishment handed down. But race doesn’t play a part in it.

Read this to get a better idea how Title IX is being used to target young black men.

Surprised Rosenblum never brought up race in his press conference tbh. Probably figured his case *should* be strong enough without doing so. Also, nice, Brian, a wild MB73 appeared!

@MB73 is back just in time for his latest 10 star lock of the decade super bowl pick! Cash out your accounts and get a 2nd mortgage guys.

That’s called being humble. He coached his tail off.

I think it’s 50/50.

Yes, he’s a good humble man.

No, he did not coach his tail off. If that were the case the program would not have taken a nosedive when Majerus recruits left.

Completely disagree.  If we were talking about 4 white baseball players there is no way the punishment would be years long.

Remember during the first ‘Situation’ Willie Reed was supposedly told, (paraphrasing)  “You are a 6’10” black man, your presence is naturally intimidating.”

this is what disgusts me the most about this whole thing... my alma mater, that i proudly boasted about to anyone who would listen, is racist as F.  I dont support racism

People should be held accountable in a fair, unbiased, and impartial manner.

It certainly appears, and the perception is, that this particular Title IX investigation conducted by SLU resulted in a biased, unfair, and excessive punishment.

Perception is 9/10 of reality...and sometimes is correct.

SLU allowed this perception to exist, so NO ONE has confidence that justice has been served in this manner.

Pestello needs to correct this situation.  Lawyers and money will be involved.

If not, will SLU have any bit of confidence left in Pestello?

Serious question - are the guys being punished for having group sex? If so, shouldn't the girls receive the same punishment.

The immediate response from most will be 'no, they're suspended/expelled for releasing the video'.

But that can't be correct since only one player released the video, right. So what did the other three do wrong, or how did they act differently than any other participants in the party?

There is two things that the players involved are equally guilty of that girls are not guilty of.  They were born male and black.

And situation one was not a title ix investigation. I REALLY don't think the two situations are all that similiar

Seems to be the ongoing debate. SLU is not a "Catholic" school but in the end run by Catholics??!? I think the administration is simply sending a message out to the world. Coordinated and videoed group sex will not take place on campus ? That is the best guess I have.

Wish they would of gone escort route instead of co-ed back in September.

This or maybe one of those life like robo girls. Maybe if I ever give to SLU again I'll earmark my funds to go to a team robo girl

Then the females involved should be treated in the same fashion as the males.

Except Weathers was instrumental in the verdict and the sentence in both situations.
