4* guard Trevor keels is on campus today

Is he just participating in the Elite 100 event or is he actually visiting the program?

Sometimes it's both; our staff will peel off individual players or groups of players and personally give them tours.

Aaron Lemon-Warren - SF, 6-5, 200 - Philadelphia, PA (Archbishop Ryan) - AAU: K-Low Elite (Adidas Gauntlet) - Twitter: @arod_savage
Offers: Saint Louis, Richmond.

Interest: La Salle, Bowling Green, Wagner.

Scouting Report: Lemon-Warren is a competitive, versatile forward who does whatever is needed of him. He's an outstanding defender and was tasked at times during his sophomore year with guarding the opposing center because of his toughness and rebounding ability. He scores on all three levels.

-Lemon-Warren's recruitment has basically just begun in the past two weeks. He's been a standout in team camp events and D-I schools are just noticing him. He was a sophomore starter for a senior-laden varsity team this past season and ended up being their second-leading scorer but he spent a lot of the season playing at the 4 or 5 because his team didn't have much size. He'll be the top returning player this coming season.

Jai Smith - PF, 6-9, 210 - Syracuse, NY (St. Thomas More, CT) - AAU: City Rocks (Nike EYBL) - Twitter: @jai_smith131
Offers: Saint Louis, Rutgers, San Diego, Siena.

Interest: Seton Hall, Syracuse, Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, UConn, Cornell.

Latest News: Smith received an offer from SLU after the Nike Elite 100 Camp. (7/8/19)

Scouting Report: Smith is a tough, athletic forward with a non-stop motor. He finishes strong, dunking everything he can. He's an energetic defender who uses his length to disrupt and block shots. He cleans up the glass at both ends and is an excellent passer. He's got a great attitude and work ethic and is a great teammate. He transferred from Bishop Ludden HS in Syracuse to St. Thomas More in CT. Rankings: Future150 - 19.

-Smith is a long, athletic forward with a high ceiling. He needs to develop his mid-range and perimeter game along with his ball handling but he's extremely effective in transition and in or near the paint.

Bio on our newest 2021 offer:

Jordan Nesbitt - SG, 6-6, 185 - St. Louis, MO (St. Louis Christian Academy) - AAU: Brad Beal Elite (Nike EYBL) - Twitter: @kingjordann3
Offers: Saint Louis, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Tulane, Louisiana-Monroe.

Interest: Xavier, Creighton, Louisville, Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, K-State, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Mizzou, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Cincinnati, Tulsa.

Latest News: Nesbitt received an offer from SLU. (7/18/19)

Scouting Report: Nesbitt is a long, skilled, active wing scoring guard with a fluid, athletic game. He finishes strong around the rim and has shot making ability off the catch or dribble with good range. He's a very energetic defender, and a hard worker with a competitive streak. Nesbitt played his freshman and sophomore years at Lutheran North, then transferred to St. Louis Christian Academy and reclassified as a 2021 recruit. Rankings: Rivals - 58, PrepHoops - 51, 247Sports - 120, 247Sports Composite - 93, ESPN - 56.

-SLU has been involved for a while. He's an area kid, I'm guessing North County since he played at Lutheran North before transferring to STL Christian. He played 7 of 13 games with Brad Beal Elite's 17U (top) squad this season; I'm guessing he played for the 16U team in a few events, too. Ford Stuen just started following him on Twitter. Other programs following him that aren't listed above: Oral Roberts, Temple, Louisiana, Ohio State, Youngstown State, Grambling State, Valparaiso, SEMO, Seton Hall.

Nebraska is his last offer before SLU. When the recruiting period opened up for 2021 kids a month ago, he heard from Illinois, Alabama, Nebraska, Creighton, Iowa, Tulsa, and Ole Miss right away. He said in the spring that Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Mizzou, SLU, Louisville, and a few others were involved. He's taken an unofficial visit to Louisville. Top 100 prospect at this point.

Both names I had on the 2021 interest list have gotten offers in the past couple days - Nesbitt and now Bates. Ford said a while back that players don't have patience anymore for having interest from a program without an offer. They want the offer or they want you to move on. This staff doesn't seem to string guys along for the most part. Here's Bates' bio:

Tamar Bates - SG, 6-4, 180 - Kansas City, KS (Piper) - AAU: KC Run GMC (Under Armour Rise) - Twitter: @tbates_11
Offers: Saint Louis, Wichita State, Missouri State, Abilene Christian.

Interest: Creighton, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Purdue, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Kansas, K-State, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, SMU, South Florida, Belmont, Loyola-Chicago, Illinois State, Drake, Bradley, Miami-Ohio, Milwaukee, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Liberty, UMKC.

Latest News: Bates received an offer from SLU. (7/19/19)

Scouting Report: Bates is a high-volume scoring guard. He has a smooth lefty stroke with range. He has good handles, gets to the rim through traffic, is comfortable absorbing contact, and finishes with either hand. He's got long arms that he uses to his advantage at both ends. He has a steady demeanor and lets the game come to him. He led his HS team to a state championship as a sophomore.

-Bates is on the Kansas side of the border; Piper HS is in the Northwest fringe of the Kansas City, KS area. He's already got a state championship under his belt, which he won alongside his older brother, now heading to juco to play. All three of his previous offers came in the past week - Missouri State, then Abilene Christian and Wichita State - so he's just starting to emerge despite having a lot of high-level interest.
