I still think Kasubke goes to Kansas State but I hope he considers this: Dajuan Gordon, Weber's star recruit from last year, was impressive at Team USA trials this summer.  He has the makings of a 4 year starter.  And there will be at least three upperclassmen vying for the other guard spot by this time next year.  The path to minutes is more open at SLU.  Weaver's gone after one year and Goodwin and Perkins are gone after two.

Yeah...but Luke would be coming in after Sneed.  Diarra and Gordon will be starting and that wing spot would need to be filled.  Luke is taller and shoots better than any of the returning guards.  Plus,  there's a good chance one of those three you mentioned might not be there. (If he continues to get into trouble)

Shocking you make the argument for a school that isn’t SLU. 😃😃

im not familiar with Kasubke other than he goes to chaminade.  Based on what ive heard, he seems like a Jimerson type, correct? Maybe a perkins?

Kasubke is a classic 6-6 shooting guard who can spot up or put it on the floor.  He's streaky from outside but has had games where he absolutely lights it up from three.  He's got a nice handle, good speed, and decent hops.  He moves his feet well on defense.

SLU historically puts together 2-3 strong years in a row and then falls into obscurity because there's nobody left to step up once the core group graduates.  Kausbke is the bridge recruit we never get.

Not shocking that you would interpret it that way.  Just sharing information.

ignore da hata's. what you said is unbiased look at our shot. if this kind of stuff can't be bantered about what's the point of the board imo. the 2 smiles may mean only a stab at a chuckle which it got from me I just fear we would stifle any thinking on pertinent topics.

ESPN's updated rankings are out today for 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Players in the 2020 top 100 with SLU offers:
39. R.J. Davis (I expect him to release a list soon, and SLU won't be on it.)
47. Matthew Murrell (He might take longer to list his finalists, but SLU isn't in this one, either.)
57. Keon Ambrose-Hylton (We're in his top 10.)
90. Dudley Blackwell
94. Kadary Richmond
96. Jamal Mashburn, Jr.
97. Ryan Kalkbrenner

Players who had SLU offers and either didn't include the Bills on their lists or have committed elsewhere:
18. Nimari Burnett
23. Caleb Love
25. D.J. Steward
29. Mark Williams
44. Cam'Ron Fletcher (Kentucky)
50. Xavier Foster
51. Dain Dainja (Baylor)
63. L.J. Cryer (Baylor)
64. Deivon Smith
78. Davonte Davis (Oklahoma State)

The only SLU offer in the top 100 to drop out is Davion Bradford, who was 85th before the update.

Matthew Murrell's final 5:

Vandy, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Texas.

It might be a smart strategy to have some of our Chaminade alums drop off the bag of cash for this recruit.  @slufanskip and I are busy anyway.

Guys, just remember to paint a large dollar sign on the bag before you fill it with cash.  That part is key.  We also usually cinch the top with a rope, but that's not a requirement - it just adds a little extra flair.

Also make sure you write his name on the bag in case it gets lost. Box and I have never missed out on a recruit, so don't let us down

Thanks for the info coach, I am hoping Luke will want to stay home and coach Ford can convince him to stay home.

I do not have a good vibe from the local recruits in this class like I did with past local recruits like Goodwin, Gordon, Thatch, Hargrove, and Collins.

Coach Weber seems to get a lot a lot of attention from our local players.

Long story short, I have finally been released after being held by the Creve Coeur PD for roughly 21 hours. I headed over to Chaminade yesterday afternoon under the guise of taking advantage of a free alumni lunch. After knocking thru a half dozen chicken mcdandies I had admittedly lost focus of my mission. In a panic I looked around the cafeteria and saw Luke walking out and started shouting his name and sprinting towards him with the bag. Unfortunately I was stopped in my tracks by Jim Chrismer who laid me out pretty good and I was restrained on the floor by him and James Zolnowski. As I was being escorted out in handcuffs I realized I had failed in delivering the bag to Luke so I started chanting K S U Wildcats and EMAW as the student body looked on. Rough day, but Bruce Weber is going to have some explaining to do.

Man, talk about a solid recovery. Well done. That’s the kind of quick thinking that makes SLU the place where winners migrate.

No worries.  I found it funny as well.  Appreciate the comment

No Memphis (or Arkansas). Yikes.

A little background: Murrell left Whitehaven HS in Memphis for IMG Academy, which is coached by a former Memphis player. His transfer came right after his coach at Whitehaven was hired on as an assistant by Jerry Stackhouse at Vanderbilt.

Yep, a little bit of pressure on Stack to land his first big 2020 recruit on short time, since being recently hired. They are also in final four for Osa Ighodaro, and some others. They have been targeting elite 4 and 5 star players in the 2021 2022 classes. So they are going high level with their approach. They have two openings but could always oversign. We’ll see.

Faragi Phillips coached Murrell and some of the top recruits Penny Hardaway has landed at Memphis. He had high levels of success, at two Memphis High Schools, as well as two AAU programs there. One of those was Team Penny, both before and after it changed its name to Team Penny. He’s friends with Penny. He’s originally from Decatur Illinois, not too far from St. Louis.  David Grace is their experienced elite national recruiter, especially out West. Many of the rest of the staff are high level player development guys like Stack’s background.

Ole Miss is only an hour from Memphis, so not a surprise there. Kermit Davis is a good coach. Auburn getting in there. Shaka is also in that final four for Ighodaro. Arkansas coaching change.

Haha, hanging out with Yuri and Hargrove for the weekend looks like the blast.

Was that Jimerson as well? Also, saw where our Chess team, don't laugh as our big $50mm donor is a Chess fanatic, did well in some international contest. I read somewhere that Jimerson is also a chess aficionado. Wonder if he'll try out for the chess team in the offseason?
